Social media creator Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as The Rebel Kid, has finally explained her decision to move to New York, revealing that getting into a college there gave her the push to leave behind a comfortable life in India.
For the past few days, fans of Apoorva Mukhija, better known online as The Rebel Kid, have been wondering whether the popular content creator was preparing to leave India.
The speculation began after several of her friends shared Instagram Stories saying they would miss her. Apoorva reposted some of those messages, prompting fans to question whether a major move was coming.

Apoorva has revealed that she has moved to New York City, choosing to leave behind her established life in India to become a student and experience the city she has wanted to live in for years.
Why did Apoorva Mukhija move to New York?
Apoorva discussed her decision during an appearance on AminJaz’s YouTube channel.
The conversation was recorded shortly before her departure from India. At the time, she said she had only two days left in India before moving to New York, while the host pointed out that she would already be in NYC by the time the episode was released.
Explaining what attracted her to the city, Apoorva said she had travelled extensively but felt something different when she first visited New York.
The fast-paced lifestyle, stylish atmosphere and architecture immediately appealed to her. She also admitted that the city already felt familiar because she had seen it repeatedly in web shows she enjoyed watching.
That fascination eventually turned into a serious plan.
She applied to college and got in
Apoorva revealed that she decided to apply to a college in New York almost as a personal challenge.
Her thinking was simple: if she got accepted, she would go.
And she did.
The opportunity gave her a reason to finally experience life in the city she had admired for so long.
Rather than continuing with the comfortable routine she had already established in India, the social media personality decided to take the risk and start again as a student.
‘I’m privileged’ but she still chose to start over
One of the most interesting aspects of Apoorva’s decision is that she acknowledged she was leaving behind a life that was already comfortable.
She said she has great friends, a house, round-the-clock help and a career that has been going well.
Yet, despite having those things, she wanted to challenge herself by moving to another country and experiencing student life in New York.
The decision, she admitted, has not been completely easy.
Apoorva acknowledged that she is scared about making such a significant change, especially when she already has a successful career in the digital space.
But there is also excitement behind the decision particularly because she is finally getting the opportunity to live in the city she had dreamed about.
She knows the degree may not help her career

She admitted that the degree she is pursuing may not necessarily be useful for the kind of career she eventually wants.
She has never been particularly interested in following a conventional career path or working a typical job.
Instead, with her existing digital career and audience, she believes she could potentially start a business if she wanted to.

Her brief stint on the show quickly became a talking point among viewers because she brought the same outspoken personality that made her popular online.
She confronted several contestants, including Akanksha Choudhary, Varun Yadav and Ram Kapoor, while also taking the side of Shreya Kalra and Shilpa Shinde when they found themselves isolated inside the show.
