Nani’s The Paradise has entered its second week at the box office after comfortably crossing the Rs 100 crore mark in India. While the film continues to add to its tally, its weekday collections have slowed considerably compared with its blockbuster opening.

On Thursday, October 1, the film earned an estimated Rs 3.30 crore net in India, taking its eight-day domestic net collection to Rs 108.20 crore.

The latest collection was around 2.9% lower than Wednesday’s Rs 3.40 crore. The film reportedly had 5,067 shows across India on Day 8 and recorded approximately 266,232 footfalls.

The film’s performance overseas has also contributed significantly to its overall box-office total.

The Paradise has collected approximately Rs 127.75 crore gross in India, while overseas markets have contributed another Rs 30.85 crore. Together, these figures take the film’s reported worldwide gross collection to Rs 158.60 crore.

The milestone comes despite contrasting reactions from moviegoers following the film’s theatrical release. Its overall occupancy across languages on Day 8 was reported at 15.8%.

Telugu version remains the biggest contributor

Unsurprisingly, the Telugu version remained the strongest contributor to The Paradise’s Day 8 business.

The Telugu version earned approximately Rs 2.67 crore from 2,428 shows, registering around 22% occupancy.

The Hindi version collected about Rs 60 lakh from 2,560 shows, with occupancy at roughly 10%. The Tamil version, meanwhile, contributed around Rs 3 lakh from 79 shows.

Collections began to decline after the opening weekend. The film earned Rs 5 crore on Monday, Rs 4.40 crore on Tuesday, Rs 3.40 crore on Wednesday and another Rs 3.30 crore on Thursday.

Amid the film’s box-office run, Nani has also addressed the contrasting reactions The Paradise has received from audiences.

During an interaction with director Srikanth Odela for You We Media, Nani said the response was unlike anything he had experienced across his 18-year career and 33 films.

“Out of 33 films I made in my 18 years of career, this is the first time I am experiencing something like this,” Nani said.

The actor also reflected on the intensity of some of the criticism, suggesting that even viewers who disliked the movie appeared deeply engaged with it.

“But even when someone says they didn’t like the film, there is a passion behind that response, an aggressive honesty,” he said, adding that such an intense reaction could also be viewed positively.

With Rs 108.20 crore net in India and Rs 158.60 crore worldwide, The Paradise has already crossed significant box-office milestones. The key question now is whether the Nani starrer can stabilise during its second weekend and build momentum after its weekday slowdown.
