New Delhi: The wait is finally over for smartphone enthusiasts as Xiaomi Xiaomi Official Website has launched the much-awaited Redmi Note 17 5G in India. Positioned as the successor to the Redmi Note 15 5G, the new device brings a major upgrade package with a massive battery, premium-looking display technology and improved performance features.
The biggest highlight of the newly launched smartphone is its enormous 8,000mAh battery, which makes it one of the most battery-focused devices in its segment. Xiaomi has also added a vibrant AMOLED display, stronger screen protection and faster connectivity options to attract users looking for an all-round 5G smartphone.
Redmi Note 17 5G: Design and Display
The Redmi Note 17 5G comes with a sleek polycarbonate body and is available in three colour options — Starlight Purple, Dark Night and Arctic Blue. The front panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, while the device also carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.
The smartphone features a large 6.9-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2396 × 1080 pixels. It supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate and offers a peak brightness of 1,800 nits, making it suitable for gaming, video streaming and outdoor usage.
Additional display features include HydroTouch 2.0, an in-display fingerprint sensor and TÜV Eye Protection certification, aimed at improving viewing comfort during long usage sessions.

The standout feature of the Redmi Note 17 5G remains its powerful 8,000mAh battery. Xiaomi claims that the phone supports 45W wired fast charging along with 22.5W reverse charging, allowing users to power other compatible devices.
For connectivity, the smartphone supports 5G networks, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1, ensuring faster wireless performance and better connectivity options.
Redmi Note 17 5G India Price and Availability
The Redmi Note 17 5G has been launched in India at a starting price of ₹28,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The higher 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model is priced at ₹31,999.
As part of the launch offer, buyers can get an instant discount of up to ₹3,000 through selected credit card transactions from banks including ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and SBI.
The smartphone will be available for purchase from August 12 through Amazon India and the official Xiaomi online store.
