The wait for the next-generation Redmi Note smartphone may soon be over. Ahead of its expected debut, fresh leaks have revealed new details about the Redmi Note 17, including its likely storage variant, colour options and hardware specifications for the Indian market.

While Xiaomi has not officially announced the smartphone’s launch date, recent developments suggest that its arrival could be just around the corner. The handset has reportedly been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification database, often considered a strong indicator of an upcoming India launch.

Storage and Colour Options Surface Online

According to noted tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Indian version of the Redmi Note 17 is expected to debut with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The smartphone is also tipped to be available in Blue and Dark Night colour options at launch.

Although these are believed to be the initial variants, industry watchers expect Xiaomi to introduce additional RAM and storage configurations later, offering buyers more choices depending on their budget and performance requirements.

What to Expect from Redmi Note 17

The Redmi Note 17 is shaping up to be a feature-packed smartphone. Xiaomi has reportedly confirmed that the device will feature a 7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, promising smoother scrolling, improved gaming performance and an immersive viewing experience.

The display is also expected to deliver up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness, making it easier to use outdoors even under direct sunlight.

Powering the smartphone could be the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor, paired with what is tipped to be a massive 8,000mAh battery. If accurate, it would be among the largest battery capacities seen in mainstream smartphones.

Charging is also expected to be a strong point, with support for 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging, allowing users to charge compatible accessories or other smartphones directly from the device.

Camera and Software

Photography enthusiasts may also find plenty to like. The Redmi Note 17 is rumoured to feature a 50MP primary rear camera, positioned inside a newly designed square camera module. On the front, the smartphone could house a 32MP selfie camera for sharper video calls and social media content.

On the software front, the handset is expected to ship with Android 16 running HyperOS, bringing Xiaomi’s latest user interface along with new software enhancements and AI-powered features.

India Launch Timeline and Expected Price

The Redmi Note 17 is scheduled to make its China debut on July 14, and reports suggest the India launch could follow soon after.

If current leaks prove accurate, the smartphone may carry a starting price of around ₹34,990 in India.

However, it is important to note that Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the Indian launch date, pricing, specifications or variant details. As with all pre-launch leaks, these details should be treated as preliminary information until the company makes a formal announcement.
