Several popular smartphones and tablets have become costlier in India as rising memory chip prices push manufacturers to revise retail prices across multiple models.
Planning to purchase a new smartphone or tablet? You may now have to stretch your budget a little further. Leading brands including Samsung, OnePlus, Vivo, and Poco have announced fresh price hikes for several of their devices in India.
The latest revisions come as global prices of DRAM (RAM) and NAND flash storage continue to rise. Industry experts attribute the increase to growing demand for memory chips from AI data centres, which has significantly raised manufacturing costs. As component prices climb, smartphone brands are passing part of the additional expense on to consumers.
Samsung Increases Prices Across Galaxy M47 Lineup
Among the biggest revisions is Samsung’s Galaxy M47, which has become more expensive just weeks after its launch.
The updated prices are:
- Samsung Galaxy M47 (6GB + 128GB): ₹32,999 (Earlier: ₹25,999)
- Samsung Galaxy M47 (8GB + 128GB): ₹36,999 (Earlier: ₹28,999)
- Samsung Galaxy M47 (8GB + 256GB): ₹41,999 (Earlier: ₹33,999)
The revised prices are already live on Samsung’s official website.
OnePlus Tablets Also Get Costlier
OnePlus has revised the prices of its latest tablets.
The OnePlus Pad Go 2 now starts at ₹29,999 for the 8GB + 128GB Wi-Fi variant, compared to its launch price of ₹26,999.
Meanwhile, the OnePlus Pad Lite has witnessed an even sharper hike. The tablet now starts at ₹19,999, up from ₹15,999, reflecting a ₹4,000 increase.
Poco Revises Smartphone Prices
Poco has also increased prices across multiple smartphones.
The revised pricing includes:

- Poco X8 Pro Max: Starts at ₹46,999
- Poco X8 Pro (8GB + 256GB): Now priced at ₹36,999
- Poco M8: Receives price hikes of up to ₹2,000, depending on the storage variant.
Vivo Announces Another Price Revision
Vivo has once again revised the pricing of several models after making similar changes earlier this year.
The updated prices are:
- Vivo T5 Pro (8GB + 128GB): ₹35,999 (Earlier: ₹32,999)
- Vivo T5 Pro (8GB + 256GB): ₹39,999
- Vivo T5x (8GB + 128GB): ₹27,999 (₹1,000 increase)
- Vivo T4 Lite (4GB + 64GB): ₹16,999 (₹2,000 increase)
Why Are Smartphone Prices Increasing?
The latest round of price hikes is primarily linked to rising global costs of memory components.
Manufacturers of DRAM and NAND flash storage have increased prices as demand continues to surge, particularly from companies investing heavily in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure and large-scale data centres.
Since memory chips are among the most expensive components inside modern smartphones and tablets, brands have begun adjusting retail prices to offset higher production costs.
Consumers planning to upgrade their devices may now have to factor these revised prices into their purchase decisions, especially as industry experts believe component costs could remain elevated in the coming months.
