Redmi Note 17 Series Leak: 10,000mAh Battery, 200MP Camera and ‘Monster’ Upgrades Teased Before Launch
New leaks suggest Redmi Note 17 and Note 17 Pro Max could bring massive batteries, flagship-grade cameras, and major performance upgrades as Xiaomi gears up for next-gen mid-range battle
The mid-range smartphone race in India and China is heating up again, and Redmi seems ready to shake things up once more.
While the Redmi Note 15 series is still fresh in the market, early leaks about the upcoming Redmi Note 17 series have already started making waves online. And if these rumours turn out to be true, users may be looking at one of the most aggressive upgrades in the segment so far.
Redmi Note 17: Big battery, OLED display and Snapdragon power
According to leaks shared on Chinese social media platform Weibo, tipster Smart Pikachu suggests that the standard Redmi Note 17 could feature Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor.
But what’s really grabbing attention is the battery—reportedly a massive 9,000mAh unit, which would easily outclass most smartphones in its category.
Other expected features include:
- 1.5K flat OLED display
- 50MP primary camera
- Water-resistant build (exact IP rating not confirmed)
If true, this would position the device as a serious endurance-focused smartphone for heavy users.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Max: 10,000mAh battery and 200MP camera?
The higher-end Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is where things get even more dramatic.
Leaks suggest the device could come powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chipset, paired with an enormous 10,000mAh battery—a capacity usually seen in rugged phones rather than mainstream flagships.
The Pro Max variant is also tipped to include:
- 1.5K flat OLED display
- 200MP primary camera
- Water-resistant design
If these specifications come true, Redmi may be preparing to blur the line between mid-range and premium smartphones once again.
Launch timeline still unclear
Earlier reports from tipster Digital Chat Station suggested that the Redmi Note 17 series could debut as early as June, while the Pro variants may arrive either in the same month or by August.
However, Xiaomi has not officially confirmed any details yet, so these remain early-stage leaks.
Meanwhile: Redmi K90 Ultra steals the spotlight
While the Note 17 series is still under wraps, Redmi is already gearing up to launch the gaming-focused Redmi K90 Ultra in China on June 30.

The device has already been teased and confirmed to feature:
- 8,550mAh battery
- 100W fast charging
- 22.5W reverse charging
- Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset
- Active cooling system
- 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 165Hz refresh rate
Redmi also claims the device can run over 40 games at 165fps, making it one of the most performance-heavy smartphones in its segment.
A new direction for Redmi smartphones
If the leaked specifications are accurate, the Redmi Note 17 lineup could mark a major shift in smartphone design philosophy—prioritising extreme battery life and high-end camera hardware in a mid-range package.
For now, users will have to wait for official confirmation, but one thing is clear: Redmi is preparing to push the limits of what a mid-range phone can do.
