Redmi Note 17 5G goes on sale in India: Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, massive 8,000mAh battery and launch offers revealed
Xiaomi’s latest Redmi Note 17 5G is now available for purchase in India with a 120Hz AMOLED display, Android 16-based HyperOS 3, and up to ₹3,000 instant discount.
New Delhi: Xiaomi has officially started the sale of the Redmi Note 17 5G in India. Introduced last week as the first smartphone in the brand’s latest Redmi Note 17 lineup, the device brings a large AMOLED display, Qualcomm’s latest entry-level 5G chipset, and a huge 8,000mAh battery.
Redmi Note 17 5G price in India
The Redmi Note 17 5G starts at ₹27,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The 8GB RAM model is priced at ₹30,999. Buyers can choose from three colour options — Arctic Blue, Dark Night, and Starlight Purple.
As part of the launch offers, customers using SBI, Axis Bank, or Kotak Bank credit cards can avail an instant discount of ₹3,000. The smartphone is available for purchase through Amazon India and Xiaomi’s official online store.
Display and performance
The smartphone features a 6.9-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering smoother scrolling and gaming. The panel supports 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, offers up to 1,800 nits peak brightness, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s new 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, making the Redmi Note 17 one of the first smartphones to use the chipset. It comes with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.
Users can further expand storage by up to 2TB using a microSD card. Xiaomi has also equipped the device with a 10,416 sq mm vapour chamber cooling system to help maintain performance during extended gaming and heavy usage.

Camera features
For photography, the Redmi Note 17 5G sports a dual rear camera setup led by a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The company has not disclosed the specifications of the secondary camera.
On the front, the smartphone houses an 8MP selfie camera for video calls and social media content.
Battery and software
One of the biggest highlights of the Redmi Note 17 is its massive 8,000mAh battery, which supports 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. According to Xiaomi, the phone can deliver up to 2.5 days of battery life on a single charge under typical usage.
The handset runs HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, out of the box. Xiaomi has promised four years of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, ensuring long-term software support.
Other features
The smartphone carries an IP65 rating for resistance against dust and water. It measures 169.7 x 79.14 x 8.4 mm and weighs around 225 grams.
With its large battery, high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, and long software support, the Redmi Note 17 5G aims to offer a feature-rich experience for users looking for a premium mid-range smartphone.
