Poco X8 and Poco X8 Power have launched in India with large AMOLED displays, powerful Snapdragon processors and massive batteries of up to 10,000mAh.

The Indian smartphone market has no shortage of powerful devices, but battery life is quickly becoming one of the biggest areas where brands are trying to stand apart. POCO appears to be taking that challenge seriously with the launch of the Poco X8 and the more powerful Poco X8 Power in India.

The two new smartphones arrive with some eye-catching specifications, including batteries as large as 10,000mAh, high-refresh-rate AMOLED displays, fast charging support and modern Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.

While the standard Poco X8 is aimed at buyers looking for a balanced package, the Poco X8 Power takes things a step further with a significantly larger battery, faster charging and an upgraded camera setup.

Here is everything you need to know about the latest Poco smartphones.

Poco X8 and Poco X8 Power Price in India

The Poco X8 has been launched at a starting price of ₹29,999, while the more premium Poco X8 Power starts at ₹35,999.

However, launch offers could make both phones more attractive for early buyers.

POCO is offering a ₹2,000 discount, along with an additional ₹1,000 exchange bonus. With these offers included, the effective price comes down to:

  • Poco X8 – ₹26,999
  • Poco X8 Power – ₹32,999

Both smartphones are scheduled to go on sale in India from September 11, 2026.

The Poco X8 Power will be offered in Black and Yellow colour options.

Meanwhile, the standard Poco X8 will be available in three colours:

  • Fiery Orange
  • Frost White
  • Black

A Huge Battery Is the Biggest Talking Point

The biggest difference between the two models is clearly battery capacity.

The standard Poco X8 comes equipped with a massive 9,000mAh battery, which is considerably larger than what most conventional smartphones currently offer.

It supports 67W wired charging and 22.5W charging support, giving users a combination of large battery capacity and relatively quick charging.

But the Poco X8 Power takes battery capacity to another level.

The device packs an enormous 10,000mAh battery, making it the headline feature of the new launch.

It also supports significantly faster 100W wired charging, along with 27W reverse charging support, allowing the phone to potentially power other compatible devices.

For users who regularly struggle with charging their smartphones every evening, the X8 Power could be the more interesting option.

6.83-Inch AMOLED Display With 120Hz Refresh Rate

Both smartphones feature the same large 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display.

The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling, animations and supported gaming experiences feel smoother.

According to the specifications, the display can reach up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness, which could help improve visibility in bright outdoor conditions.

The screens are also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

With slim modern displays becoming increasingly common in the mid-premium smartphone segment, the large AMOLED panel is one of the key features shared by both models.

Different Snapdragon Processors Under the Hood

The two smartphones are powered by different processors.

The standard Poco X8 comes with the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, while the more powerful Poco X8 Power gets the newer Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor.

Both processors are designed to handle everyday smartphone activities, including social media, streaming, multitasking and gaming, although the X8 Power is positioned as the more capable device of the two.

Both phones run on Android 16 with HyperOS 3 layered on top.

Poco X8 vs Poco X8 Power: Camera Differences

The camera setup is another area where the two phones differ.

The standard Poco X8 features a dual-camera system consisting of:

  • 50MP primary camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS)
  • 2MP secondary camera

For selfies and video calls, it gets a 16MP front camera.

The Poco X8 Power, meanwhile, offers a more versatile rear camera setup.

It includes:

  • 50MP primary camera with OIS
  • 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera

On the front, the X8 Power features a higher-resolution 32MP selfie camera.

For buyers who frequently use their phones for selfies, video calls and wider landscape shots, the Power model appears to have the advantage.

Design: Leather Finish and a Bold Camera Island

Both new Poco smartphones feature a distinctive design language.

The devices come with a leather-style back finish and a square-shaped camera island, giving them a noticeably different appearance from many conventional glass-backed smartphones.

The Poco X8 Power’s Yellow variant, in particular, is expected to attract buyers looking for something more colourful and bold than the typical Black or Grey smartphone designs.

Poco X8 or Poco X8 Power: Which One Makes More Sense?

The choice largely depends on what buyers expect from their next smartphone.

The Poco X8 offers a lower entry price, a large 9,000mAh battery, a 120Hz AMOLED display and a 50MP primary camera with OIS.

The Poco X8 Power, however, justifies its higher positioning with a remarkable 10,000mAh battery, 100W fast charging, a more powerful processor and upgraded camera hardware.

For buyers whose priority is maximum battery life and faster charging, the Poco X8 Power is clearly the more exciting device.

But those looking for a large battery and premium display experience at a lower effective price may find the standard Poco X8 to be the better value.

With sales beginning on September 11, the two devices are set to add another interesting battle to India’s increasingly competitive smartphone market.
