Apple may be quietly lining up what could become the most dramatic product transformation in its modern history. According to Bloomberg’s tech reporter Mark Gurman, the company is preparing a wave of futuristic devices between 2026 and 2027 that could redefine how users interact with technology.
At the centre of the buzz is Apple’s long-rumoured foldable smartphone — reportedly referred to internally as the “iPhone Ultra”. Expected as early as this year, the device could mark Apple’s biggest design shift since the original iPhone revolutionised the industry.
The launch lineup may not stop there. Gurman suggests Apple could unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable model together in a high-profile September event, alongside new Apple Watch models, including the Apple Watch Ultra series.
But the real story is not just the iPhone.
Apple is reportedly building a full ecosystem of AI-driven devices, including upgraded Macs, refreshed iPads, and even entry-level tablets powered by Apple Intelligence — the company’s growing artificial intelligence framework designed to compete in the next generation of smart computing.
One of the most intriguing developments is Apple’s upcoming smart home hub. The device is said to feature a 7-inch display and act as a central control system for connected homes. Reports suggest it could resemble a compact iPad mounted on a speaker base, blending entertainment and utility in one unit.
