Reports suggest Alia Bhatt has joined Prabhas’ ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ sequel and already filmed important scenes in Hyderabad.

The excitement surrounding the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD is growing stronger with every passing week, and now fresh reports linking Alia Bhatt to the ambitious sci-fi franchise have sent social media into overdrive.

According to the latest industry buzz, director Nag Ashwin has quietly resumed work on the highly anticipated sequel in Hyderabad, where crucial portions of the film are reportedly being shot under tight secrecy. While the makers have remained silent about major developments, new speculation suggests that Alia Bhatt may have officially entered the futuristic cinematic universe led by Prabhas.

Reports claim that the Bollywood star has already shot a few important scenes for the sequel, although no official confirmation has been issued by the production house or the actress herself.

Interestingly, insiders suggest that Alia’s character will reportedly be entirely different from Sumathi, the role portrayed by Deepika Padukone in the first installment. Instead, she is believed to be playing a completely new character who could significantly influence the direction of the sequel’s storyline.

The rumours have immediately sparked intense discussion among fans, especially given the scale and popularity of the original film. Many viewers are now eager to see how Alia Bhatt could fit into the mythological and futuristic world that Nag Ashwin created in the first chapter.

The original Kalki 2898 AD emerged as one of Indian cinema’s biggest spectacles, blending mythology, science fiction, and dystopian storytelling on an unprecedented scale. The film featured an ensemble cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, and earned massive attention for its visual ambition and unique world-building.

Reports now suggest that both Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan have already completed major portions of their shoot schedules for the sequel, further raising anticipation around the project.

Another major rumour currently doing the rounds is related to actress Sai Pallavi, who is reportedly expected to portray the role of Sumathi in the upcoming chapter. However, these reports also remain unofficial for now.

Despite the secrecy surrounding the sequel, fans are closely tracking every update linked to the film, with social media platforms flooded with theories, casting discussions, and speculation about the expanding Kalki universe.

Alia Bhatt Reportedly Joins Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD Sequel

The sequel is once again being produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, which is reportedly investing heavily in international-level visual effects and large-scale production design. Music composer Santhosh Narayanan is also expected to return, continuing the franchise’s distinct musical identity that played a major role in elevating the atmosphere of the first film.

With Prabhas returning in the lead role and rumours of new additions like Alia Bhatt gaining momentum, the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD is rapidly shaping up to be one of the most-awaited Indian films currently in production.

Although fans are still waiting for official announcements regarding the cast and storyline, the growing speculation alone has already turned the sequel into one of the hottest topics in Indian cinema.
