The move to Dubai came at a time when the world was grappling with uncertainty. During the pandemic, swimming pools across India remained shut for extended periods, making professional training difficult for athletes. For aspiring swimmers like Vedaant, continuing his sporting journey required a major change.
Speaking about the transition, the young athlete admitted that while the relocation itself was smooth, adapting to a completely new environment was far from easy.

“The shift was pretty smooth. We were able to move all our assets and everything. It was a nice move,” he shared in an earlier conversation.

Having spent his entire childhood in India, moving to a new country meant stepping out of a deeply familiar world. Vedaant revealed that adjusting to school life in Dubai while balancing training and social interactions took time.
“I had been in India my whole life; adapting to this new environment took me a bit,” he recalled.
Despite Dubai’s large Indian community making cultural adjustment easier, building a new routine and social circle wasn’t instant. For a teenager, leaving behind lifelong friends and cherished memories can be emotionally demanding.
Yet, for Vedaant, the decision was driven by a bigger dream.
‘I Sacrificed My Life in India’

“I sacrificed my life in India—with all my friends and a cultivated environment,” he said.

The move also opened new opportunities. Thanks to training abroad, he was able to participate in international competitions, including races in Denmark, something that may have been difficult during the pandemic restrictions in India.

“My parents are really supportive and I am lucky in that regard. Not many kids have the privilege of their parents supporting them in their dreams,” he said.
