Peddi Gets a Major Rework After Backlash: 6 Minutes of New Scenes Added, Controversial Moments Deleted, Fans Notice Big Change
Director Buchi Babu Sana tweaks Peddi post-release, removing objectionable scenes involving Janhvi Kapoor and adding fresh emotional moments.
In a rare post-release move, the makers of Peddi have introduced significant changes to the film just two weeks after its theatrical debut. Starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, the film has now been updated with 5 minutes and 56 seconds of new footage—a decision that comes in response to audience feedback and criticism.
What Has Changed in ‘Peddi’?
The film’s official announcement confirmed that new scenes have been added to enhance the overall experience. At the same time, certain sequences that drew backlash—particularly those perceived as objectifying Janhvi Kapoor’s character—have been removed.
Director Buchi Babu Sana addressed the issue earlier, stating, “We have already edited it,” referring to the controversial portions.
He further revealed that “two or three more scenes of Achiyyamma have been added”, aiming to deepen the audience’s emotional connection with the character.
Scenes Removed After Criticism
Among the most talked-about changes is the deletion of a scene where Ram Charan’s character allegedly kisses Janhvi’s character without consent.
Additionally, sequences accused of hypersexualising the female lead have also been cut from the film.

What’s New in the Updated Version?
Fans who revisited the film in theatres have pointed out several fresh additions, including:
- A “Pelli Choopulu” (matchmaking) scene adding humor and cultural context
- A market sequence that strengthens the romantic track
- Additional scenes involving supporting characters, enhancing emotional depth
One viewer shared online, “The new scenes make the story flow better and justify character actions more clearly.”
Audience Reaction: Better, Balanced, More Emotional
Early reactions suggest that the revised version of Peddi feels more cohesive.

Fans have noted that the film’s love story, comedy, and emotional arcs now feel more balanced, with unnecessary distractions removed.
Another viewer commented, “The added scenes are hilarious in the first half and emotionally effective in the second half.”
A Rare Post-Release Correction
While films are often edited before release, making changes after hitting theatres is uncommon. The makers’ decision highlights a willingness to listen and adapt.
In an era of instant feedback, ‘Peddi’ stands as an example of how filmmakers are responding in real time to audience voices.
