Virat Kohli Calls Karan Aujla’s ‘Winning Speech’ Personal… Their Backstage Bond Leaves Fans Talking
From emotional conversations backstage to dancing together on stage, Virat Kohli and Karan Aujla’s latest Delhi event has sparked a social media frenzy.
A star-studded evening in New Delhi turned into one of the internet’s favourite moments after Virat Kohli and Karan Aujla shared both the stage and some heartfelt backstage moments at a One8 event on Sunday.
What began as a high-energy music and lifestyle event quickly became a viral sensation, with fans flooding social media over what many are calling the ultimate “bromance moment” between the cricket icon and the Punjabi pop sensation.
The buzz started when videos from the event surfaced online, showing Kohli and Aujla dancing together during a live performance of the singer’s hit track Winning Speech. The chemistry between the two was impossible to miss as the crowd cheered them on.
But it wasn’t just the stage performance that got everyone talking.
Late Sunday night, Karan Aujla shared a candid backstage picture on his Instagram Story where he and Virat Kohli were seen deeply engaged in conversation. Both dressed in black, the image instantly grabbed attention, especially with Aujla’s newly released track Low Flame playing in the background.
Another video shared by One8, Kohli’s lifestyle brand, captured a warm surprise moment as Aujla walked up to Kohli backstage. The two greeted each other with a handshake before sharing a hug — a moment fans quickly turned into viral clips across platforms.
On stage, Kohli opened up about his connection with Aujla’s music, revealing that Winning Speech holds a deeply personal meaning for him.
“You write songs from the heart, and it shows. You represent your story, and that’s special. The one track I connect with the most is Winning Speech,” Kohli said.
The former India captain went on to reveal the emotional reason behind that connection.
“It explains the journey he has been through, and I’ve felt similarities with my own journey. I lost my dad when I was pretty young too. That song is very special for me. I’ve listened to it often before going into matches,” Kohli added.

The heartfelt confession struck a chord with fans, who praised the emotional honesty and the bond the two stars seem to share.
The collaboration also highlighted the growing cultural crossover between sports and music. One8, Kohli’s lifestyle brand, joined hands with Aujla — one of the biggest names in Punjabi pop, known for chartbusters like Softly, Tauba Tauba, and Admiring You.

The event had already generated huge excitement days before it was held at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in Dwarka, Delhi, after Kohli teased the collaboration on social media. Sharing a photo of himself and Aujla on a giant stage in matching black T-shirts featuring the numbers 1 and 8, Kohli wrote, “Welcome Karan, the stage is ours.”
This wasn’t Aujla’s first massive show in Delhi this year. Earlier in February, his concert at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium reportedly attracted over 75,000 fans as part of his P-POP Culture India Tour.
From music to memories, and from emotional confessions to electric performances, the Kohli-Aujla duo has delivered a night fans won’t forget anytime soon.
