The Vivo X500 series is expected to feature four flagship smartphones, with the Pro Max reportedly offering a 200MP periscope camera.

Vivo is reportedly preparing a major refresh of its flagship smartphone lineup with the upcoming Vivo X500 series. The new range is expected to include four models — the Vivo X500, X500e, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max.

While Vivo has not officially confirmed the launch, reports suggest the series could make its debut in China in September 2026. Some of the devices have also reportedly started appearing on certification databases, hinting that the launch may not be far away.

If the leaks are accurate, Vivo could be preparing one of its most ambitious camera-focused smartphone lineups yet.

Vivo X500 series: Four models expected

The upcoming lineup is tipped to cover multiple price segments within the premium category.

The standard Vivo X500 is expected to sit at the entry point of the series, followed by the X500e. Above them, the X500 Pro and flagship X500 Pro Max are expected to bring more advanced displays, processors and camera hardware.

The Pro Max, in particular, could become the headline device of the series thanks to its reported 200MP periscope camera.

However, it is important to remember that Vivo has not officially confirmed these specifications.

Design could take a different direction

The standard X500 is reportedly being tested with a 6.59-inch flat OLED display surrounded by narrow bezels.

At the back, the phone could feature a large circular camera module positioned towards the upper-left portion of the device.

The design language may change considerably with the Pro models.

The X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are reportedly expected to feature centrally positioned circular camera modules. The Pro could have a display measuring around 6.37 inches, while the larger Pro Max could feature a panel of approximately 6.85 inches.

The displays are also tipped to support resolutions ranging from 1.5K to 2K, with refresh rates potentially reaching 144Hz.

If that turns out to be accurate, the X500 series could offer exceptionally smooth scrolling and animations alongside high-resolution panels.

New-generation processors could power the lineup

Performance is expected to be another major talking point.

The standard Vivo X500 is reportedly being tested with a 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9600 chipset.

The more expensive X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max could go a step further, with reports pointing towards a 2nm MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro processor.

A move to 2nm technology would represent a significant leap in chip manufacturing and could potentially improve performance and power efficiency.

That said, the exact chipsets and their configurations will need to be confirmed by Vivo before any firm conclusions can be drawn.

Cameras could be the biggest attraction

Photography has traditionally been one of Vivo’s major selling points, and the X500 series appears set to continue that strategy.

The standard X500 is tipped to feature a 50MP Sony primary camera, accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide sensor and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with a reported 70mm-equivalent focal length.

The telephoto camera could also support macro photography, potentially giving users more flexibility when shooting close-up subjects.

X500 Pro could focus on dynamic range

The Vivo X500 Pro is expected to receive a more advanced camera setup.

Reports suggest it could feature a 50MP main sensor measuring 1/1.28 inches, combined with LOFIC technology.

LOFIC, or lateral overflow integration capacitor technology, is designed to help sensors handle scenes containing extremely bright and dark areas by improving their ability to preserve highlight and shadow information.

The Pro model is also tipped to feature a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom.

Vivo X500 Pro Max could be the camera monster

The top-end Vivo X500 Pro Max is where things become particularly interesting.

According to the leaks, the flagship is being tested with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. It could reportedly be accompanied by a 50MP Sony LYT-828 primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera and another 50MP telephoto sensor.

If these specifications make it into the final product, the Pro Max could become one of the most camera-focused smartphones in Vivo’s portfolio.

The 200MP periscope sensor could offer significant flexibility for long-distance photography, although real-world image quality will depend on factors such as optical hardware, image processing and software tuning.

Expected Vivo X500 Pro Max price in India

The Indian pricing has not been officially announced.

However, according to Cashify, the Vivo X500 Pro Max could reportedly start at around Rs 1,09,999 in India.

That would put the phone firmly in the premium flagship segment, placing it against some of the most expensive smartphones available in the country.

The final Indian price could, however, differ significantly depending on the storage configuration and Vivo’s launch strategy.

When will the Vivo X500 series launch?

Vivo has yet to announce an official launch date for the X500 series.

Current reports point towards a September 2026 launch in China, with international availability potentially following later.

For now, the processor details, camera specifications, Indian pricing and even the final model lineup should be treated as unconfirmed information based on leaks and reports.

If the reported specifications are even partly accurate, though, the Vivo X500 series could be one of the more interesting flagship launches of the year.

And with a 200MP periscope camera, 144Hz displays and potentially 2nm processors in the mix, Vivo appears to be preparing something considerably more ambitious than a routine smartphone upgrade.
