‘India Gives Israel Tremendous Support’: Netanyahu Highlights New Delhi After JD Vance’s ‘Only Ally’ Remark
The Israeli Prime Minister disagreed with US Vice President JD Vance’s suggestion that America is Israel’s only powerful ally, pointing to India’s support and strong international partnerships.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has highlighted India’s support for Israel after US Vice President JD Vance suggested that the United States was the only powerful ally Israel could rely on.
Speaking during a video interview, Vance said he would be cautious about publicly criticising Washington if he were part of the Israeli government.“If I was in the cabinet of the Israeli government, I might not be attacking the only powerful ally that I have anywhere left in the entire world,” Vance remarked.
The statement quickly drew attention, prompting Netanyahu to respond while reaffirming Israel’s close ties with the United States and emphasizing that the country enjoys support from several other nations, including India.
Netanyahu Praises Trump, But Disagrees With Vance
Responding to the comments, Benjamin Netanyahu said he has great respect for JD Vance and shares a positive relationship with him, but clarified that he does not agree with every opinion expressed by the US Vice President.
At the same time, Netanyahu once again praised US President Donald Trump, describing him as Israel’s strongest supporter in the White House.“He is the greatest friend we ever had in the White House,” Netanyahu said, adding that he continues to stand by that assessment.
‘India Gives Us Tremendous Support’
While discussing Israel’s international relationships, Netanyahu specifically mentioned India, saying the country has consistently shown strong support for Israel.
He noted that India, home to more than 1.4 billion people, has extended significant goodwill towards Israel and said he regularly receives messages of encouragement from Indians on social media.“We get tremendous support from India,” Netanyahu said, adding that he is often flooded with supportive messages from Indian users on Facebook.
The Israeli Prime Minister stressed that India is not the only nation backing Israel and insisted the country enjoys support from many partners around the world.

Israel Has ‘Many Friends,’ Says Netanyahu
Netanyahu argued that global perceptions about Israel’s diplomatic isolation do not reflect reality.
According to him, media coverage and online discourse in several countries often portray an anti-Israel narrative, creating a misleading impression about Israel’s international standing.
He claimed that several world leaders have privately reached out to express respect for Israel, even if domestic political pressures prevent them from doing so publicly.

Netanyahu said these leaders are interested in strengthening ties with Israel, particularly in areas such as artificial intelligence, cyber security, and defence technology.
He also highlighted Israel’s achievements in cyber security, saying the country is regarded as one of the world’s leading innovators in the field.
Remarks Come Amid Global Scrutiny
Netanyahu’s comments come at a time when Israel continues to face international scrutiny over its military operations and regional tensions, including its recent conflict with Iran.
By highlighting support from countries such as India alongside the United States, Netanyahu sought to reinforce his view that Israel continues to maintain strong diplomatic relationships despite criticism in some parts of the world.
His remarks have once again brought attention to the strategic ties between India and Israel, while also underscoring ongoing debates over Israel’s global alliances and international support.
