Davanagere, Karnataka: In a heartbreaking incident, 26-year-old national-level bodybuilder Sushil Kumar passed away after suffering a sudden heart attack in Karnataka’s Davanagere district, leaving his family, friends, and the sporting community devastated.
Sushil Kumar, who had earned recognition across the state and the country by winning hundreds of bodybuilding titles, was considered one of the brightest talents from Davanagere. His untimely death has sent shockwaves through the fitness world.
What makes the tragedy even more painful is that his parents witnessed their young son collapse before their eyes.
Collapsed Just Before Leaving Home
According to family sources, Sushil had followed his usual daily routine and completed an intense workout session at the gym in the morning. By evening, he was preparing to head back for another workout.
Before leaving, he was getting ready to drop his mother—who works at the Davanagere District Hospital—for her duty.
However, just as he was about to step out of the house, Sushil suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed unconscious outside his home in the KTJ Nagar area.
His family rushed him to the hospital immediately.
Doctors Found Blood Pressure Critically Low
Upon reaching the hospital, doctors reportedly found that Sushil’s blood pressure had dropped drastically.
Despite urgent efforts to begin treatment, the young athlete died before medical intervention could fully begin.
Doctors suspect a massive cardiac arrest as the cause of death, although further medical examination may provide clearer details.
