Kirti Kulhari falls victim to ₹2.43 lakh cyber fraud: Mumbai Police investigate unauthorised credit card transactions
Actor Kirti Kulhari has lodged a complaint after discovering four unauthorised transactions on her credit card, prompting the Mumbai Police to launch a cyber fraud investigation.
Bollywood actor Kirti Kulhari has reportedly become the latest public figure to fall victim to an alleged cyber fraud. The actor approached the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai after noticing multiple unauthorised transactions on her credit card, resulting in a loss of ₹2.43 lakh.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to identify those responsible for the suspected financial fraud.
Fraud detected after bank alert
According to reports, the incident came to light while Kirti Kulhari was at Cinepolis near Fun Republic Mall in Andheri West. She reportedly received an alert from her bank regarding a transaction worth $2,525 made through Aeromexico Airlines using her credit card.
Surprised by the notification, the actor immediately contacted her bank to verify the transaction.
Bank officials allegedly informed her that four unauthorised transactions had been processed using the same card. To prevent any further misuse, the bank promptly blocked the credit card.
Based on the complaint, the total financial loss is estimated at ₹2,43,853.

Police suspect cyber attack
In her complaint, Kirti Kulhari reportedly stated that she had never shared her credit card PIN, password or other confidential banking details with anyone.
Investigators suspect the fraud may have been carried out using malware, spyware, or other cyber techniques that could have compromised either her mobile device or card information.
The police are examining digital evidence, transaction records and bank reference details to trace those behind the alleged cybercrime.

Investigation underway
Cybercrime investigators are working with banking records and digital footprints to determine how the card details were accessed and where the fraudulent transactions originated.
Officials have not yet disclosed whether the transactions were processed from within India or overseas, and no arrests have been reported so far.
The case serves as another reminder of the growing risks associated with digital payment fraud and the importance of monitoring banking alerts and securing financial information.
