Dulquer Salmaan is set to receive another major international honour as the acclaimed actor has been announced as the Guest of Honour at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2026.

The prestigious festival, supported by the Victorian Government, will take place in Melbourne, Australia, from August 13 to August 23, 2026, celebrating the diversity and global impact of Indian cinema.

Known for seamlessly working across Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films, Dulquer will be recognised for his remarkable contribution to contemporary Indian cinema and his growing international appeal.

Reacting to the announcement, Dulquer Salmaan said he was honoured to be recognised by a festival that has consistently showcased the richness of Indian storytelling on the global stage.”It’s truly an honour to be recognised by the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, a festival that has consistently celebrated the diversity and excellence of Indian cinema on a global stage.”

Directed by Nahas Hidhayath, known for RDX, the film stars Dulquer as Dan John, a gambler who believes every game is governed by algorithms rather than luck.

The nearly three-minute trailer teases a gripping psychological thriller centred around sports betting, revenge and mind games, with Dulquer portraying a character determined to outsmart every opponent through mathematical precision.

The film is expected to hit theatres later this month.
