‘Dhamaal 4’ Surges 60% on Day 2! Ajay Devgn’s Comedy Inches Closer to ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ as Fans Await a Bigger Weekend
Despite mixed reviews, Ajay Devgn’s latest comedy entertainer witnessed a massive jump in collections on its second day, putting it among the strongest Bollywood performers of the year and teasing an exciting future for the franchise.
New Delhi: Ajay Devgn has once again demonstrated his box-office pull as Dhamaal 4 recorded an impressive jump in earnings on its second day in theatres. The comedy entertainer, which hit cinemas on July 10, registered strong growth despite receiving mixed reactions from critics and audiences alike.
According to early trade estimates, the fourth installment of the popular Dhamaal franchise earned an estimated ₹22.50 crore net across India on its second day, a remarkable 60.7% increase compared to its opening-day collection of ₹14 crore. With this, the film’s total domestic net collection has climbed to approximately ₹36.50 crore within just two days of release.
The sharp rise indicates that audience interest remains strong, especially over the weekend, giving the film a solid opportunity to post an impressive opening weekend total.
Closing the Gap with ‘Welcome To The Jungle’
The latest box-office numbers have also brought Dhamaal 4 closer to Welcome To The Jungle, another major Bollywood comedy release. That film had collected ₹20 crore on its second day and stood at around ₹39 crore after two days.
While Dhamaal 4 is still slightly behind that benchmark, its strong Saturday growth has significantly narrowed the difference, keeping industry watchers optimistic about its weekend performance.

Outperforming Ajay Devgn’s Recent Releases
The film has comfortably surpassed the opening pace of several recent Ajay Devgn releases.
- De De Pyaar De 2 collected around ₹12.25 crore on its second day, reaching ₹21 crore after two days.
- Son of Sardaar 2 earned approximately ₹8.25 crore on day two and ₹15.50 crore after two days.
- Dhamaal 4 has already touched ₹36.50 crore in just two days, making it one of the actor’s strongest recent openings.
The performance highlights the enduring popularity of the comedy franchise among moviegoers.
Still Chasing the Franchise Record
Although the film has started on a strong note, it still has a long journey ahead before matching the success of Total Dhamaal. Released in 2019, the third film in the series collected ₹20.40 crore on its second day and eventually wrapped up its theatrical run with an impressive ₹155.67 crore India net collection.

Trade analysts believe that positive word of mouth over the coming days will play a crucial role in determining whether Dhamaal 4 can approach that milestone.
Star-Studded Cast Returns for More Laughter
Directed by Indra Kumar, the film brings back the franchise’s trademark humour with a large ensemble cast featuring Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, Jaaved Jaaferi, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Upendra Limaye, Anjali Anand, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Esha Gupta and Vijay Patkar.
Produced by T-Series, Panorama Studios, Devgn Films, Maruti International, and Anand Pandit Motion Pictures, the film continues the legacy of one of Bollywood’s most successful comedy franchises.
Is ‘Dhamaal 5’ Already on the Way?
Adding to the excitement, reports suggest that the film’s post-credit scene hints at the future of the franchise. The makers have reportedly confirmed that Dhamaal 5 is already in development, with filmmaker Farhad Samji attached as the writer.
If the latest installment continues its strong momentum at the box office, fans may not have to wait too long for another dose of comedy from the beloved franchise.
