Prithviraj Sukumaran’s I, Nobody Fails Monday Test… Box Office Slumps as Film Struggles to Find Momentum
The Malayalam thriller witnessed a sharp drop in collections on its first Monday, raising concerns over its theatrical run despite Prithviraj Sukumaran’s star power.
Prithviraj Sukumaran’s latest Malayalam release, I, Nobody, is finding it difficult to maintain momentum at the box office. Directed by Nissam Basheer, the thriller has witnessed a significant decline in collections after an underwhelming opening weekend, with its first Monday earnings indicating a challenging road ahead.
Released on July 9, the film was expected to benefit from an extended opening weekend. However, audience response remained modest, and the latest figures suggest that the movie has struggled to convert initial interest into sustained footfall.
First Monday collections disappoint
According to trade estimates, I, Nobody collected around 0.57 crore on its fifth day at the Indian box office.
The figure marks the film’s lowest single-day collection so far, representing a sharp drop of nearly 74% from its opening-day earnings of 2.20 crore.

After five days in theatres, the film’s estimated India net collection stands at 7.02 crore, falling short of expectations for a film led by one of Malayalam cinema’s biggest stars.

Worldwide performance remains modest
Despite the domestic slowdown, I, Nobody has received comparatively better support from overseas markets, particularly in regions where Malayalam films traditionally perform well.
The film has reportedly earned around 6 crore gross overseas, taking its worldwide gross collection to approximately 14.14 crore.
While the international numbers have provided some support, the overall performance remains below expectations considering the film’s scale and lead actor’s popularity.
Focus shifts to upcoming releases
The film marks Prithviraj Sukumaran’s first theatrical release of 2026.
Following the disappointing performance of Vilaayath Buddha in 2025, I, Nobody now becomes another film facing commercial challenges at the box office.
The actor will next be seen in Khalifa, an action entertainer directed by Vysakh, which is scheduled for release during the Onam festive season. The film is expected to face stiff competition from Nivin Pauly’s Bethlehem Kudumba Unit and Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game.
Later this year, Prithviraj is also set to appear in Meghna Gulzar’s Daayra, alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, a project that has already generated significant buzz among cinema enthusiasts.
While I, Nobody still has time to improve its collections, the steep Monday decline suggests the film faces an uphill battle in the coming days.
