Cocktail 2 crosses ₹104 crore at the Indian box office, becoming Maddock Films' eighth highest-grossing movie in India.

Cocktail 2 has continued its steady run at the Indian box office, reaching another important milestone for Maddock Films. Despite slowing collections in its fourth week, the romantic comedy has emerged as the production house’s eighth highest-grossing film in India, surpassing the lifetime earnings of Luka Chuppi.

Directed by Homi Adajania, the film features an ensemble cast including Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna. Serving as a spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit Cocktail, the movie has maintained a consistent performance since its release, even as new films entered cinemas.

Crosses 104 crore mark in India

According to trade estimates, Cocktail 2 earned around 5 lakh on its 25th day at the Indian box office, taking its total net collection to approximately 104.15 crore. This translates to a gross collection of nearly 122.89 crore across India.

Trade analysts believe the film is likely to conclude its theatrical run with a lifetime domestic collection close to 105 crore net, making it one of the notable performers in Maddock Films’ growing box office portfolio.

Surpasses Luka Chuppi in Maddock Films’ rankings

With its latest earnings, Cocktail 2 has overtaken Luka Chuppi, which finished its theatrical run with a net collection of 94.15 crore in India.

However, the romantic entertainer still trails Munjya, another successful Maddock Films production, which collected around 108 crore during its domestic run.

At the top of the production house’s all-time list remains the blockbuster Stree 2, which continues to dominate with an extraordinary 627.5 crore collection in India.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Pramita Vijan, and Luv Ranjan under the banners of Maddock Films and Luv Films, Cocktail 2 was reportedly made on a budget of around ₹110 crore.

The film revisits the spirit of the original Cocktail, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty, while introducing a fresh story and new characters for modern audiences.

Nearing the end of its theatrical journey

Although daily collections have slowed considerably after more than three weeks in theatres, Cocktail 2 has managed to leave a mark at the box office by joining Maddock Films’ list of top-performing titles.

As its theatrical run nears completion, the film’s overall commercial performance will be closely watched before it makes its transition to the digital platform.
