Avengers: Doomsday Runtime Revealed… Marvel’s Second-Longest Movie Opens Early Ticket Sales Ahead of Release

Marvel Studios has kicked off the promotional campaign for Avengers: Doomsday, unveiling several major updates months ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on December 18, 2026. From confirming the film’s runtime to launching early premium ticket sales and teasing a new trailer, the studio is building anticipation for what promises to be one of the biggest superhero films of the year.

Marvel’s second-longest Avengers film

According to the latest announcement, Avengers: Doomsday will have a runtime of 165 minutes (2 hours and 45 minutes), making it the second-longest Avengers film ever produced.

The movie will run longer than Avengers: Infinity War (149 minutes) but remains shorter than Avengers: Endgame, which holds the franchise record with a runtime of 181 minutes.

The extended duration reflects the film’s ambitious storyline, which is expected to bring together multiple superhero teams from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

How to book tickets in India

Marvel is taking the unusual step of opening premium-format ticket bookings nearly five months before the film’s release.

Indian fans will be able to reserve their seats through popular online ticketing platforms such as BookMyShow and TicketNew once official advance bookings begin, which are expected to start around July 20.

The early pre-sale strategy is linked to Marvel’s new Infinity Vision premium format and comes as the studio prepares for competition from Warner Bros.’ Dune: Part III, which is also scheduled to release on the same day.

Trailer expected at Comic-Con

Fans may not have to wait much longer for the first official look at the film.

Marvel Studios is expected to unveil the first public trailer for Avengers: Doomsday during San Diego Comic-Con later this month. A teaser was previously showcased exclusively at CinemaCon, but it has not yet been released for the general audience.

Reports also suggest the trailer could be screened in theatres alongside Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is set to release on July 31.

Robert Downey Jr. returns as Doctor Doom

One of the biggest highlights of the film is the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU. However, instead of reprising his iconic role as Iron Man, the actor will portray Doctor Doom, one of Marvel’s most powerful villains.

The star-studded cast also includes legendary X-Men actors such as Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and Channing Tatum, making it one of the franchise’s biggest ensemble line-ups.

Concept art teases an epic crossover

Marvel recently revealed official concept artwork for Avengers: Doomsday during the Bilibili World Expo in Shanghai.

The artwork, created by former Marvel visual development director Andy Park, places Doctor Doom at the centre while featuring returning heroes including Steve Rogers, Thor, and Loki in refreshed designs.

It also hints at the return of the Fantastic Four, Wakandan heroes, the New Avengers, and several X-Men characters, setting the stage for the events that will eventually lead into Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled for release in 2027.

Although speculation continues around appearances by Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, Marvel has not officially confirmed their involvement.

With a lengthy runtime, early ticket sales, and a highly anticipated trailer on the horizon, Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be one of the MCU’s biggest cinematic spectacles in recent years.
