Audi Unveils ‘Nuvolari’: 1,001 PS Hypercar Becomes Fastest Production Vehicle in Brand History
Inspired by Formula 1 technology, the limited-edition Audi Nuvolari promises blistering speed, hybrid power and futuristic engineering unlike anything the brand has built before.
Audi has officially pulled the covers off its most ambitious road car ever — the all-new Audi Nuvolari, a breathtaking hybrid supercar that is set to become the fastest and most powerful production vehicle in the company’s history.
With a staggering 1,001 PS, a claimed top speed of over 350 km/h, and a production run limited to just 499 units worldwide, the Nuvolari marks a bold new chapter for the German luxury carmaker as it pushes deeper into the world of high-performance hybrid engineering.
Deliveries of the hypercar are expected to begin in the first half of 2027.
Formula 1 Meets Road-Legal Performance
The Audi Nuvolari is not just another exotic supercar — it is a technology showcase inspired heavily by Formula 1. Under the hood sits a powerful 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine paired with three advanced electric motors, creating a combined output of 736 kW (1,001 PS).
The result is jaw-dropping performance.
Audi claims the Nuvolari can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds, while the 0-200 km/h run takes only 6.8 seconds. These numbers place the car firmly among the quickest production vehicles ever made.
The hybrid setup includes two electric motors at the front axle and a third unit positioned between the engine and transmission. Together, they deliver exceptional torque distribution, sharper handling and improved traction through Audi’s next-generation quattro predictive ride system.
Aggressive Design With Motorsport DNA
Visually, the Nuvolari looks every bit like a future-ready race machine. Built around a mid-engine layout, the supercar features a low-slung stance, sculpted bodywork and extensive use of carbon fibre.
Audi says the car introduces the brand’s new design philosophy, combining muscular styling with intelligent aerodynamics.
The exterior wears a striking Titanium paint finish, inspired by Audi’s Formula 1 race car and the previously showcased Audi Concept C. Carbon-fibre body panels, a massive rear diffuser, aggressive front splitter and deployable rear wing further underline the car’s motorsport intentions.
One of the standout highlights is the active aerodynamic package, which automatically adjusts downforce depending on speed and driving conditions. The rear wing even features a Formula 1-style Drag Reduction System (DRS) for improved straight-line speed.
According to Audi, the car can generate over 400 kg of downforce in high-performance driving modes.
Advanced Lightweight Engineering
Audi has combined its iconic Audi Space Frame (ASF) technology with a full carbon-fibre exterior for the first time in a production vehicle.
Almost every exterior panel uses Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP), helping reduce weight while maintaining exceptional rigidity and safety. Several components have reportedly been developed using manufacturing techniques directly borrowed from Formula 1.
The Nuvolari also debuts forged centre-lock wheels in Audi’s production lineup, further emphasising its race-inspired character.
Interior Focused Entirely on the Driver
Inside, Audi has adopted a pure driver-centric approach. The cockpit features a minimalist layout with all essential controls positioned within easy reach.
Physical buttons, anodised aluminium detailing and motorsport-inspired graphics dominate the cabin, while lightweight carbon-fibre seats provide maximum support during aggressive driving.

Audi says the interior design takes inspiration from legendary Auto Union race cars of the 1930s, blending heritage with futuristic technology.
Named After A Motorsport Legend
The hypercar is named after Tazio Nuvolari, the legendary Italian racing driver widely regarded as one of motorsport’s greatest icons.

Audi says the name reflects the car’s fearless engineering philosophy and relentless pursuit of performance.
A Glimpse Into Audi’s Future
With the Nuvolari, Audi is clearly signalling its future ambitions in the world of electrified performance cars. While many manufacturers are moving towards fully electric vehicles, Audi’s approach combines hybrid technology with emotional high-performance driving.
The limited-edition supercar is expected to become one of the most exclusive and technologically advanced vehicles ever to wear the iconic four-ring badge.
For enthusiasts, the Audi Nuvolari is not just a supercar — it is Audi’s declaration that the future of performance can still be thrilling, emotional and uncompromising.
