The 2026 Ducati Monster will launch in India on August 10 with a new 890cc V2 engine, updated styling, and improved technology.

Ducati is all set to introduce the 2026 Monster in India on August 10, bringing one of the most significant updates to its iconic naked motorcycle in recent years.

Far from being a routine model-year refresh, the new Ducati Monster arrives with a completely new engine, redesigned styling inspired by the original Monster, updated electronics, and significantly longer service intervals aimed at reducing ownership costs.

The current-generation Monster is priced at ₹13.84 lakh (ex-showroom), and industry expectations suggest the updated model will carry a slightly higher price tag due to its extensive mechanical and technological upgrades.

New 890cc V2 Engine Replaces the Older L-Twin

The biggest highlight of the 2026 Monster is its all-new 890cc V2 engine, replacing the outgoing 937cc L-twin powerplant.

The same engine already powers Ducati’s Streetfighter V2 and Panigale V2, offering improved refinement and performance.

The engine produces:

  • 111 hp at 9,000 rpm
  • 91.1 Nm of peak torque at 7,250 rpm

Power is delivered through a six-speed gearbox, while a bi-directional quickshifter comes as standard, allowing clutchless upshifts and downshifts for a sportier riding experience.

Lighter Motorcycle With Longer Service Intervals

Despite featuring a new engine and additional technology, the updated Monster weighs just 175 kg (wet, without fuel), making it 4 kg lighter than its predecessor.

Another major improvement is the extended maintenance schedule.

The motorcycle now requires valve clearance inspections every 45,000 kilometres, marking the longest service interval ever offered on a Ducati Monster.

For owners, this could translate into lower maintenance costs and reduced workshop visits over the bike’s lifetime.

Classic Monster Styling Makes a Comeback

Ducati has also listened to feedback from enthusiasts by bringing back one of the Monster’s most recognisable design elements.

The large muscular fuel tank, a signature feature of earlier Monster generations, returns on the 2026 model after many riders criticised its absence on the outgoing version.

The motorcycle also receives:

  • A redesigned LED headlamp
  • New “Double C” daytime running light signature
  • A larger TFT instrument display

Rather than reinventing the motorcycle, Ducati has chosen to revive the classic styling cues that helped establish the Monster as one of the world’s most iconic naked bikes.

Competition in the Premium Naked Segment

Once launched, the 2026 Ducati Monster will continue competing in India’s premium middleweight naked motorcycle segment.

With a more powerful engine, updated electronics, reduced weight, and lower long-term maintenance requirements, the new Monster is expected to strengthen Ducati’s position among enthusiasts looking for a high-performance roadster.

Potential buyers are also likely to compare the motorcycle against other premium naked bikes in the segment by considering not only performance and features but also ownership costs and after-sales support.

Launch Just Around the Corner

With its official India launch scheduled for August 10, the 2026 Ducati Monster promises a comprehensive upgrade rather than a simple facelift.

By combining a new-generation V2 engine, classic Monster styling, improved rider technology, and lower maintenance requirements, Ducati aims to make its legendary naked motorcycle even more appealing to Indian enthusiasts seeking everyday usability alongside thrilling performance.
