Maruti Suzuki celebrates new milestones with the Brezza, Ferrari remains sold out until 2028, while Xiaomi showcases its ambitious Kunlun EV platform in China.
The past week has been packed with major developments across the automotive world. From Maruti Suzuki achieving record-breaking sales in India to Ferrari reporting a fully booked order pipeline until 2028, and Xiaomi unveiling cutting-edge electric vehicle technology in China, the industry continues to evolve at a rapid pace.
While each company is targeting a different customer base, their latest announcements highlight changing consumer preferences, growing demand, and increasing innovation across the global automobile market.
Ferrari Sold Out Until 2028
Luxury sports car manufacturer Ferrari has revealed that its order books are completely filled through 2027, meaning customers placing new orders today are expected to receive their vehicles only in 2028.
The announcement underlines the continued demand for Ferrari’s exclusive lineup despite global economic uncertainties.
The company is currently refreshing its portfolio with new models such as the Ferrari Amalfi, 849 Testarossa, 296 GTB, and 296 GTS, while gradually retiring models including the Roma Spider, 296 GTS, and SF90 XX variants.
Production of the flagship Ferrari F80 is also increasing, while the company has expanded its iconic V12 lineup with the 12Cilindri, 12Cilindri Spider, and the newly introduced 12Cilindri Manuale.
During the first half of 2026, Ferrari delivered 6,802 vehicles worldwide, reflecting continued strong demand in the ultra-luxury segment.
Maruti Suzuki Hits Record Domestic Sales
Back home, Maruti Suzuki India has achieved its highest-ever monthly domestic sales.
In July 2026, the automaker sold 200,123 vehicles in India, a significant jump from 140,570 units during the same month last year.
The company’s passenger vehicle lineup performed strongly across categories.
Compact and midsize models such as the Baleno, Swift, Dzire, and Ciaz contributed over 90,000 units, while utility vehicles including the Brezza, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, XL6, Jimny, Invicto, Victoris, and eVitara collectively crossed 78,000 units.
Even entry-level cars like the Alto and S-Presso registered healthy year-on-year growth, indicating sustained demand in the affordable segment.

Kunlun Platform Highlights Xiaomi’s Engineering Push
Perhaps the biggest innovation from Xiaomi is its newly developed Kunlun vehicle platform.

Built around a three-axis architecture, the platform focuses on improving cabin space, passenger comfort, and interior flexibility.
The X-axis optimises front-cabin packaging by integrating multiple vehicle systems into a compact layout.
The Y-axis redesign improves third-row seating by reconfiguring the rear suspension, providing more headroom and allowing flexible seat adjustments.
Meanwhile, the Z-axis lowers the cabin floor by redesigning the rear electric drive unit and battery packaging, creating a flatter floor and increasing passenger comfort across all seating rows.
The platform demonstrates Xiaomi’s growing focus on engineering innovation as it seeks to establish itself in the competitive global EV market.
The Road Ahead
From Ferrari’s record demand to Maruti Suzuki’s impressive domestic performance and Xiaomi’s technological advancements, the global automotive industry continues to witness significant transformation.
Luxury manufacturers are benefiting from strong global demand, Indian automakers are strengthening their dominance with value-driven products, and technology companies are redefining mobility through software and intelligent vehicle platforms.
As the industry moves towards electrification, connected technologies, and smarter driving experiences, these developments underline how competition is intensifying across every segment of the automobile market.
