MG Hector Blackstorm, Snowstorm launched at Rs 20 lakh: Same SUV, two striking looks here’s what buyers get
MG Motor India has introduced the Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm special editions at Rs 20 lakh ex-showroom, offering contrasting exterior themes, an all-black cabin, ADAS and a petrol-CVT powertrain.
MG Motor India has given the Hector a fresh visual makeover with the launch of two new special editions Hector Blackstorm and Hector Snowstorm.
Both models have been priced at Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) and are positioned above the regular top-spec Savvy Pro CVT, carrying a premium of approximately Rs 35,000.
The mechanical package remains familiar, but MG has used colours, darker detailing and edition-specific accessories to give the two versions distinctly different personalities.
MG Hector Blackstorm vs Snowstorm: What changes?
As their names suggest, the biggest difference is immediately visible.
The Hector Blackstorm embraces an almost entirely black appearance. It receives an all-black exterior, dark chrome branding, piano-black roof rails and smoked connected tail lamps.
The Hector Snowstorm, meanwhile, takes the opposite approach.
It combines Pearl White exterior paint with a Starry Black roof, creating a contrasting dual-tone finish.
Both editions feature the Storm Hex grille, black headlamp surrounds and Aura Storm Blade alloy wheels. Red brake calipers provide a splash of colour against the otherwise dark exterior detailing.
The skid plates, body cladding and several tailgate elements also receive darker finishes.
Special Storm package included at no extra cost
MG is also offering an edition-specific Storm package through its dealerships.
Depending on the version selected, customers get Blackstorm or Snowstorm badging, along with a red tailgate accent, fog-lamp eye shadows, ORVM protectors and side steps.
Red highlights around the fog lamps and outside mirrors complement the red brake calipers, adding a slightly sportier character to both editions.
According to the available details, these accessories are being offered without an additional charge.
Dark cabin continues inside
Despite their very different exterior colour schemes, the two special editions follow a similar approach inside the cabin.
Both receive an all-black interior with black leather upholstery and dark trim elements.
The respective edition names are embossed into the front headrests, while the leather-wrapped steering wheel gets a gunmetal finish.
Equipment includes eight-colour ambient lighting, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, an air purifier and an automatic powered tailgate.
Huge portrait touchscreen remains the centrepiece
The dashboard continues to be dominated by MG’s large 35.56cm portrait-oriented HD touchscreen, paired with a 17.78cm digital instrument display.
The infotainment system gets Smart Boost, designed to improve processing performance.
MG’s i-Swipe functionality also allows occupants to use two- and three-finger gestures for frequently accessed features including climate controls, navigation and music.
The i-Smart connected-car suite provides more than 70 connected features.

Among them are a Digital Bluetooth Key, digital key sharing, predictive maintenance notifications and remote access to functions such as the air conditioning, audio system and ambient lighting.
What safety features do buyers get?
The Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm also carry a comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assistance technology.
Equipment includes a 360-degree HD camera with wheel view, front parking sensors, ABS, EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-hold control and brake assist.
An ADAS suite is also included, along with rain-sensing wipers.
Only one engine-gearbox combination
While buyers can choose between two dramatically different exterior treatments, there is no such choice under the bonnet.

Both special editions are being offered exclusively as 5-seaters with MG’s 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a CVT automatic transmission.
That means customers looking for another seating configuration or a different powertrain will need to consider other variants in the regular Hector range.
MG Hector Blackstorm, Snowstorm price in India
Both the MG Hector Blackstorm and MG Hector Snowstorm have been priced at:
Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom)
That makes them approximately Rs 35,000 more expensive than the Hector Savvy Pro CVT on which they are based.
For that additional amount, the primary upgrades are cosmetic, with buyers getting the special exterior treatments and edition-specific detailing while retaining the Hector’s familiar equipment package.
MG also announces financing and ownership benefits
MG is offering up to 100% financing on the on-road price, with loan tenures extending up to 84 months. Similar financing support is also available for edition-specific accessories.
The company’s MG Shield 3+3+3 ownership package includes a three-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, three years of roadside assistance and three labour-free periodic services.
Customers can additionally opt for extended warranty and prepaid maintenance packages.
With both editions carrying exactly the same price and powertrain, the buying decision ultimately comes down largely to appearance.
Those wanting an aggressive, stealth-inspired Hector have the Blackstorm, while buyers looking for a brighter two-tone SUV can opt for the Snowstorm.
At Rs 20 lakh ex-showroom, MG is essentially asking buyers one question: black or white?
