MG Motor appears to be gearing up for another major launch in the Indian SUV market as the MG Hector Hawk has been spotted undergoing road tests. Although the test vehicle was heavily camouflaged, the latest spy images have revealed several key design cues, suggesting that the upcoming SUV will receive a significant makeover along with advanced technology.
Once launched, the MG Hector Hawk is expected to compete directly with established rivals such as the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 7XO, and Mahindra XEV 9S, strengthening MG’s presence in India’s premium SUV segment.
Modern exterior inspired by MG’s latest design language
Despite the camouflage, the test mule showcased several styling elements that point towards a more premium and futuristic appearance.
The SUV is expected to feature sleek LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), stylish alloy wheels, and wraparound LED tail lamps. A roof-mounted spoiler and rear wiper further enhance its sporty appeal.
Interestingly, the spotted vehicle also featured a charging port on the rear-left fender, indicating that MG is testing an electrified version. Reports suggest that the electric variant could feature a closed front grille, improving aerodynamic efficiency while giving it a cleaner, EV-inspired look.
Overall, the upcoming Hector Hawk is expected to look noticeably more modern than the current Hector sold in India.
Premium cabin with advanced technology
While MG has not officially revealed the interior, the India-bound model is expected to borrow heavily from its international counterpart.
The cabin could feature an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster alongside a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complemented by a minimalist dashboard design and premium leatherette upholstery.
The SUV is also expected to retain a seven-seat configuration, making it an attractive option for large families.

- Combined power output of around 195 hp
- Peak torque of approximately 230 Nm
- Electric-only driving range of up to 125 km
Fully Electric (EV)
The electric version is expected to offer:
- 69.2 kWh battery pack
- Front-mounted electric motor producing around 201 hp
- Claimed driving range of up to 530 km (CLTC cycle)
Actual range under Indian driving conditions may differ depending on factors such as traffic, weather, terrain, and driving habits.
Expected launch and market positioning
The MG Hector Hawk PHEV is expected to be positioned above the standard Hector, while the electric variant could sit above the MG ZS EV in the company’s Indian lineup.
