2026 Maruti Fronx Facelift: ADAS, Sunroof, New Features, Hybrid Plans & Expected Launch Timeline
Spy shots suggest the upcoming Maruti Fronx facelift could feature a redesigned grille, Level 2 ADAS, ventilated seats, and a sunroof ahead of its expected launch.

After refreshing the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Suzuki India Limited now appears to be preparing the next major update for the Maruti Fronx. Although the company has not officially announced the launch timeline, a growing number of spy shots and test vehicles suggest that the 2026 Fronx facelift is inching closer to its debut.

The expected update is unlikely to be a complete redesign. Instead, Maruti is expected to focus on subtle styling enhancements, additional premium features, and improved safety technology to keep the Fronx competitive in the increasingly crowded compact SUV segment.

Sharper Exterior Design Expected

Recent spy images indicate that the facelifted Maruti Fronx will receive several cosmetic upgrades aimed at giving the crossover a fresher and sportier appearance.

Among the expected exterior changes are:

  • A redesigned front grille featuring U-shaped design elements
  • A gunmetal grey connecting strip on turbo-petrol variants replacing the existing silver finish
  • A distinctive red accent line across the grille
  • Revised front bumper with a more aggressive silver skid plate
  • Newly designed alloy wheels
  • Minor styling tweaks at the rear

While the silhouette is expected to remain familiar, these changes could help the Fronx stand out from the current model.

Level 2 ADAS Could Be the Biggest Upgrade

One of the most significant discoveries from the test vehicles is the presence of a radar sensor mounted beneath the Suzuki logo on the front grille.

This strongly suggests that Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) may finally make their way to the Fronx.

If introduced, the safety suite could include features such as:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Lane Change Assist
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Forward Collision Warning

Adding ADAS would significantly enhance the Fronx’s appeal, especially as more buyers in the compact SUV segment look for advanced safety technologies.

Cabin May Get More Premium Features

The interior is also expected to receive meaningful upgrades without changing the overall dashboard layout.

Reports suggest buyers can expect:

  • Fresh upholstery and interior trim
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Electric sunroof
  • Improved cabin materials

Many existing features are also expected to continue, including:

  • Wireless smartphone charger
  • Head-Up Display (HUD)
  • Suzuki Connect connected car technology
  • 360-degree camera
  • Rear AC vents
  • Cruise control
  • Height-adjustable driver’s seat

These additions could help position the Fronx as an even more feature-rich offering in its category.

Engines Likely to Remain Unchanged

Mechanically, the facelift is not expected to introduce major changes.

The updated Fronx is likely to continue with the existing engine lineup:

  • 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol
  • 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol

Both engines are expected to retain their current transmission options, offering buyers familiar performance and driving characteristics.

Strong Hybrid Version Could Follow in 2027

While the facelift may not bring mechanical changes immediately, reports indicate that Maruti Suzuki is planning something much bigger for the Fronx in the coming years.

A strong-hybrid variant is reportedly expected to join the lineup in 2027, powered by the company’s first in-house HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) system.

If the reports prove accurate, this new hybrid technology could eventually power several other Maruti models as well.

The biggest talking point could be its impressive fuel efficiency, with early reports suggesting mileage figures of up to 35 kmpl, potentially making it one of the most fuel-efficient SUVs in India.

However, Maruti Suzuki has not officially confirmed the hybrid powertrain or its specifications.

Launch Timeline

Although Maruti Suzuki has remained tight-lipped about the launch schedule, industry reports suggest the 2026 Maruti Fronx facelift could arrive towards the end of 2026.

With refreshed styling, premium cabin upgrades, advanced driver assistance features, and a future-ready hybrid roadmap, the updated Fronx could strengthen Maruti’s position in India’s highly competitive compact SUV market.
