BMW’s 100 Jahre Nürburgring Editions arrive in India: Pre-bookings open, but the biggest surprise is the M5 Touring…
BMW India has opened pre-bookings for its exclusive 100 Jahre Nürburgring Edition range, celebrating 100 years of the legendary race circuit and the brand’s 21 victories at the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
BMW India is celebrating one of motorsport’s most iconic venues with the arrival of its special 100 Jahre Nürburgring Edition models in the country. Pre-bookings for the exclusive performance-car range have now opened through authorised BMW dealerships.
The special editions commemorate 100 years of the Nürburgring and BMW’s long association with the German circuit, including 21 victories at the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
The India-bound range includes special versions of the BMW M2 xDrive, M3 Competition xDrive, M4 Competition xDrive, M5 Sedan and, most notably, the BMW M5 Touring.
BMW has not specified production numbers for India, but the Nürburgring Editions are being positioned as highly exclusive offerings.
Nürburgring Green gives the special editions their identity
One of the easiest ways to distinguish these cars from their regular counterparts is the exclusive Nürburgring Green exterior finish.
Inside, BMW has opted for a Sapphire Black-themed cabin complemented by contrasting green details.
The special treatment extends to green contrast stitching, M Carbon bucket seats, carbon-fibre trim and an M steering wheel carrying design elements that match the overall Nürburgring-inspired theme.
The combination gives the cars a visual connection to their motorsport inspiration without changing their familiar M-car identities.
BMW M2 xDrive packs serious performance
The BMW M2 xDrive Nürburgring Edition uses a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine, producing a claimed 473bhp and 600Nm of torque.
It can accelerate from 0-100kmph in around four seconds, making it the entry point to the special Nürburgring range while retaining serious performance credentials.
M3 Competition gets 523bhp
The BMW M3 Competition xDrive is also part of the celebratory lineup.
Its 3.0-litre inline-six engine produces a claimed 523bhp and 650Nm, helping the performance sedan accelerate from 0-100kmph in 3.5 seconds.
The BMW M4 Competition xDrive joins it in the special-edition family, bringing the Nürburgring-inspired visual treatment to BMW’s performance coupe.
BMW M5 brings V8 hybrid power
Moving further up the range, the BMW M5 Sedan combines a 4.4-litre V8 with an electrified powertrain.

The setup produces a combined claimed output of 717bhp and 1,000Nm of torque, with the performance sedan capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in approximately 3.5 seconds.
However, it is another M5 that could attract even more attention in India.
M5 Touring is the real surprise
The standout addition is the BMW M5 Touring, bringing the high-performance estate body style to India.
The Touring uses the same 4.4-litre V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain, developing a combined 717bhp and 1,000Nm.

Despite its practical estate body, BMW claims the M5 Touring can accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 3.6 seconds.
Its plug-in hybrid system incorporates an 18.6kWh battery pack, while the car also comes with a 60-litre fuel tank.
The result is an unusual combination: the space and practicality associated with an estate, paired with the performance expected from a modern BMW M car.
Pre-bookings now open in India
Customers interested in the BMW 100 Jahre Nürburgring Editions can now place pre-orders through authorised BMW dealerships in India.
Pricing and detailed availability for the individual special-edition models are expected to be key factors for enthusiasts, particularly given their exclusive positioning.
But among a lineup filled with powerful M cars, the M5 Touring is likely to command particular attention. A 717bhp plug-in hybrid performance estate is already an unusual proposition — and its arrival adds an entirely different flavour to BMW’s performance portfolio in India
