Realme 16x 5G Set for India Debut on August 12: 7,000mAh Battery, 144Hz Display and Dimensity 6300 Could Make It a Mid-Range Game Changer
Ahead of its official launch, Realme has revealed several key features of the Realme 16x 5G, including a massive battery, high-refresh-rate display, AI-powered camera tools and durable build.
The upcoming Realme Realme 16x 5G is gearing up for its official debut in India on August 12, and the smartphone is already generating significant interest among buyers looking for a feature-packed mid-range device.
The handset will become the fifth member of the Realme 16 lineup, joining the Realme 16, Realme 16 Pro, Realme 16 Pro+, and Realme 16T 5G. Ahead of launch, the company has shared several official details through teasers and promotional material, giving consumers a clear idea of what to expect.
India Launch and Availability
Realme has confirmed that the Realme 16x 5G will launch in India on August 12 at 12 PM IST. While the company has not yet clarified whether it will host a full launch event or simply announce the smartphone online, interested buyers can expect official details on pricing and availability on launch day.

The smartphone will be available through Flipkart, where a dedicated microsite is already live. Buyers will be able to choose between two colour options—Blooming Brown and Blooming Silver.
Industry reports suggest the phone may arrive in 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 6GB + 256GB storage variants.
Expected Price in India
Although Realme has kept the official pricing under wraps, market leaks indicate that the smartphone is likely to be priced below ₹25,000.
Its predecessor, the Realme 15x 5G, debuted at a starting price of ₹16,999, making it likely that the new model will continue targeting India’s competitive mid-range smartphone segment.
Display and Design
The Realme 16x 5G features a modern flat design with a rectangular dual-camera module positioned on the rear. The front is expected to sport a flat punch-hole display with slim bezels.
One of the biggest highlights is its 144Hz adaptive refresh rate, promising smoother scrolling and gaming. The display is also expected to reach 1,200 nits of peak brightness, making it easier to use outdoors under bright sunlight.

The smartphone is also claimed to feature IP65 dust and water resistance along with MIL-STD-810H durability certification, adding extra confidence for everyday usage.
Performance and Software
Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor built on a 6nm architecture. The chipset will be paired with UFS 2.2 storage and support up to 14GB Dynamic RAM for improved multitasking performance.
To manage heat during gaming and intensive workloads, Realme is equipping the handset with a 5,300 sq mm vapour chamber cooling system.
The company also promises five years of smooth performance, along with two Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates, offering a longer software support cycle than many devices in this segment.
AI Camera Features
Photography duties will be handled by a 50-megapixel primary rear camera, accompanied by a secondary sensor and LED flash.
Realme has also confirmed the inclusion of AI-powered editing tools such as AI Ultra Clarity and AI Eraser, enabling users to improve image quality and remove unwanted objects directly from photos.
The front camera will be housed inside the punch-hole display for selfies and video calls.
Massive Battery with Fast Charging
Perhaps the most eye-catching specification is the smartphone’s 7,000mAh battery, one of the largest batteries expected in its price category.
According to Realme, the battery is designed to maintain healthy performance for up to six years. The company claims users can expect long hours of music playback, video streaming, gaming and navigation on a single charge.
Charging will be handled through 45W wired fast charging, with Realme claiming that just 10 minutes of charging can deliver enough power for around three hours of social media usage.
What to Expect on Launch Day
While most major specifications have already been revealed, several important details—including official pricing, complete storage options and launch offers—will only be confirmed during the smartphone’s unveiling on August 12.
If Realme manages to price the device aggressively, the Realme 16x 5G could emerge as one of the strongest contenders in India’s mid-range smartphone market, thanks to its combination of a high-refresh-rate display, massive battery, AI camera features and efficient MediaTek chipset.
