Riteish Deshmukh Snaps at Reporter Over Salman Khan Sanjay Dutt Question at ‘Lock Upp 2’ Launch: ‘I Won’t Dignify This’

Actor Riteish Deshmukh found himself at the center of a tense moment during the grand launch of Netflix India’s upcoming reality show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa in Mumbai on Monday.

The actor, who will be co-hosting the new season alongside filmmaker Farah Khan, strongly reacted after a journalist dragged Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt into a controversial question linked to their past legal troubles.

The incident unfolded during a media interaction attended by Ekta Kapoor, Farah Khan, and Monika Shergill, Netflix India’s Vice President of Content.

What started as a routine press event quickly took an uncomfortable turn when a reporter asked Riteish whether he would like to see Salman and Sanjay as contestants on the show, while referring to their “experience” of being in a lock-up.

The reporter asked, “Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt are your closest friends. Both have a lot of experience of lock up. Would you like to get them on Netflix’s Lock Upp? And how would you punish them?”

The remark visibly upset Riteish.

Without entertaining the question, the actor immediately called out its nature and refused to engage.

Riteish responded sharply, saying, “First of all, I don’t think I would like to dignify your question by answering it.”

His reaction instantly grabbed attention, with many present at the event noticing the discomfort and tension in the room.

Despite his clear response, the actor was once again asked if he would ever invite Salman or Sanjay to the show. This time, Riteish calmly clarified that contestant selection is not part of his job.

Explaining his role as host, he said that his responsibility begins once contestants enter the show, and that the casting decisions are entirely handled by the creators.

The moment has since sparked discussions online, with many social media users praising Riteish for maintaining composure while standing his ground.

The new season of Lock Upp, titled Sach Ya Sazaa, marks a fresh chapter for the controversial reality series.

While the first season was hosted by Kangana Ranaut, this time the spotlight shifts to Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh as the faces of the show.

The makers have confirmed that the upcoming edition will feature 14 celebrity contestants locked inside a prison-like setup, where they will battle through intense challenges, emotional confrontations, and strategic alliances.

With a new hosting duo and heightened drama promised, the reality show is expected to deliver another explosive season for viewers.
