New Delhi: Congress General Secretary and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has called for a comprehensive investigation into the alleged misappropriation of donations collected for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, urging authorities to identify and punish everyone found responsible.

In a post shared on X, Priyanka Gandhi questioned whether the alleged irregularities could have been carried out solely by lower-level employees, suggesting that investigators should examine whether senior officials or influential individuals may also have played a role.

Questions Over the Alleged Irregularities

Expressing concern over the allegations, Priyanka Gandhi said a transparent and impartial investigation is essential to uncover the full truth behind the reported discrepancies.

She argued that investigators should determine whether lower-level staff alone could have allegedly disabled CCTV cameras and manipulated donations reportedly amounting to thousands of crores, or whether there was involvement from higher authorities.

The Congress leader also cautioned against any attempt to suppress the issue, insisting that the investigation should be conducted fairly and without political or administrative interference.

‘Faith of Millions Must Be Protected’

Highlighting the religious significance of the Ram Temple, Priyanka Gandhi said donations made by devotees represent an act of deep faith and devotion.

She stated that any alleged misuse of these contributions would amount to a serious breach of public trust, adding that millions of devotees offer donations with reverence toward Lord Ram.

The controversy has intensified following the resignations of Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, and trustee Anil Mishra, who reportedly stepped down while taking moral responsibility amid the allegations.
