Arvind Kejriwal Says He Will March to PM Modi’s Residence Over E20 Petrol Issue… ‘Will Go With 100 People Tomorrow’
The AAP chief said more than 2.33 lakh people have signed an online petition against the ethanol policy, as he plans to personally submit it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has intensified his campaign against the E20 petrol policy, announcing that he will march to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence on August 4 along with 100 supporters to submit a petition signed by over 2.33 lakh people.
Addressing the media on Monday, Kejriwal said the delegation plans to personally hand over the petition and raise concerns about the government’s ethanol blending policy.
Over 2.33 Lakh Signatures Collected
According to Kejriwal, the online campaign launched by the party has received strong public support.“Approximately 2,33,238 people signed the petition in a short period. Tomorrow at 12 noon, I will leave my office with a group of 100 people and head towards the Prime Minister’s residence. We want to hand over this petition personally and explain why we believe the ethanol policy is flawed,” he said.
The announcement follows the AAP’s National Town Hall, where Kejriwal had pledged to mobilise public opinion against the current ethanol policy.
What Is the E20 Petrol Debate?
The E20 fuel is a blend containing 20% ethanol and 80% petrol, introduced as part of the government’s broader strategy to reduce fuel imports, lower emissions, and encourage the use of biofuels.

However, Kejriwal has argued that the policy may create difficulties for owners of older vehicles that were not originally designed to run on higher ethanol-blended fuel.
He has urged the government to ensure that consumers continue to have access to fuel compatible with their existing vehicles instead of making E20 the dominant option.
AAP Warns of Larger Protest
Over the past several days, Kejriwal has repeatedly criticised the Centre over the issue, calling for an immediate review of the policy.
He has warned that if the concerns of vehicle owners are not addressed, the issue could evolve into a larger nationwide public movement.
Government Yet to Respond
The Central Government has not yet issued an official response to Kejriwal’s latest announcement regarding the planned march or the petition.
The proposed visit to the Prime Minister’s residence is expected to keep the E20 petrol policy at the centre of political debate in the coming days.
