Ayushmann Khurrana gears up for YRF’s mysterious new theatrical venture ‘Mupapa’, slated for release in February 2027.

In a major announcement that has sparked curiosity among movie lovers, Yash Raj Films (YRF) has officially revealed its upcoming theatrical project, ‘Mupapa’, starring versatile actor Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role. The film is all set to arrive in cinemas on February 19, 2027, marking yet another ambitious addition to YRF’s growing slate.

What makes ‘Mupapa’ even more interesting is that it marks the first-ever theatrical collaboration between Yash Raj Films and Posham Pa Pictures. The project is being produced by YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani, who has been actively steering the studio’s fresh creative vision.

According to the makers, ‘Mupapa’ is being positioned as a genre-defying cinematic experience, with director Sameer Saxena at the helm. While plot details remain tightly under wraps, the production house has hinted that the film will deliver a visually striking and unpredictable big-screen journey from the very first frame.

For Ayushmann Khurrana, this film comes after his recent theatrical outing Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, which released in May this year. The actor played Prajapati in the romantic comedy and received praise for his comic timing alongside co-stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan, and Rakul Preet Singh.

Reflecting on his previous role, Ayushmann had said, “I found Prajapati to be a man who is honest and whose intentions are clean.” His ability to bring layered, unconventional characters to life has made him one of Bollywood’s most bankable stars—and fans are now eager to see what surprise ‘Mupapa’ holds.

With a mysterious title, a powerhouse production house, and Ayushmann’s proven knack for experimental cinema, ‘Mupapa’ is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about films of 2027.
