‘Kisi Gareeb Aadmi Ne’: Alia Bhatt’s savage reply to heckler at ‘Alpha’ event goes Viral, Fans say ‘Samay Raina effect?’
A witty comeback, a viral callback, and a roaring crowd—Alia Bhatt steals the spotlight during Alpha promotions, but was it spontaneous or scripted?
Bollywood star Alia Bhatt is once again making headlines this time not for a film scene, but for a sharp and hilarious comeback during the promotions of her upcoming spy thriller Alpha.
The actress recently visited JECRC University in Rajasthan as part of the film’s promotional campaign, where a light-hearted interaction with students quickly turned into a viral social media moment.
During the event, a student asked Alia about her decision to appear on the edgy comedy show India’s Got Latent, hosted by comedian Samay Raina.
The student questioned how she agreed to be part of such an “unfiltered” format. But before Alia could answer, someone from the crowd interrupted with a blunt one-word remark: “Paisa!”
Caught off guard, Alia burst into laughter but wasted no time firing back with: “Kisne bola ye, kisi gareeb aadmi ne?” (Who said that, probably some broke person).
The crowd erupted in applause, and within hours, the clip spread rapidly across social media, with fans praising her timing and comic instinct.
What made the moment even more interesting was its striking similarity to a now-iconic line from India’s Got Latent Season 2. In that episode, Alia had appeared alongside Sharvari, when a contestant was asked what women like most in men. After someone from the audience shouted “Paisa!”, Samay Raina famously responded with the exact same line: “Kisi gareeb aadmi ne.”

That exchange had gone viral at the time, with many praising Samay for shutting down what was seen as a sexist comment. This time, it was Alia flipping the script—and fans instantly caught the callback.
The official India’s Got Latent account even reacted to the clip, calling it “Too good!”, while Samay himself dropped a short but excited response: “Killl!”

However, not everyone was convinced. Some social media users speculated that the exchange might have been rehearsed as part of the film’s promotions. Whether planned or not, the clip has undeniably added fuel to the excitement around Alpha.
Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha stars Alia alongside Sharvari, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor, with a special cameo by Hrithik Roshan.
The film marks the first female-led spy thriller in the Yash Raj Films Spy Universe, joining blockbuster titles like Pathaan, Tiger 3, and War.
With the film set to hit theatres this Friday, Alia’s viral one-liner has only amplified the buzz—and perhaps proved once again that sometimes, the best promotions happen off-script.
