‘I Am Taking All the Blame’: Mohanlal Apologises After Missing Sydney Show Due to Visa Issue, Promises to Return

Mohanlal has issued a heartfelt apology to his fans and event organisers after he was unable to attend a scheduled stage show in Sydney, Australia, due to a visa-related issue.

The Malayalam cinema icon shared an emotional video message from Singapore, expressing deep regret over the unexpected situation and taking full responsibility for missing the event.

‘I don’t know how to express my grief’

In his message, Mohanlal described the incident as one of the most disappointing moments of his career.

Reflecting on his nearly 50-year journey in the film industry, the actor said he has performed at numerous international events across countries including the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Ireland, making the Sydney cancellation an unprecedented experience.

He explained that despite all preparations being completed, he was unable to travel because his visa was not approved in time.

Actor refuses to blame anyone

While discussing the issue, Mohanlal said he did not wish to point fingers or hold anyone responsible.

He suggested the problem could have resulted from a technical, clerical, or even an AI-related processing error, but clarified that he did not want to speculate further about the exact reason.

Instead, the veteran actor accepted responsibility himself, saying he was “taking all the blame” and apologised sincerely to everyone affected by the cancellation.

Mohanlal also praised the efforts of his team and the event organisers, saying they had done everything possible to ensure the show went ahead as planned.

He specifically acknowledged the support of Vimal and Kayal Events, noting that everyone involved worked tirelessly to make the programme a success.

The actor added that fellow performers, including celebrated playback singer K. S. Chithra, had successfully reached Australia, making his absence even more unfortunate.

Heartfelt apology to fans

Addressing fans who had travelled long distances to attend the event, Mohanlal expressed his deepest regret.

He apologised to every audience member who had made the effort to be present and promised that he and his team would return to Sydney in the future to present the show as originally planned.

Calling the situation beyond his control, the actor requested fans to accept his apology and assured them that he remained committed to making up for the cancelled performance.

On the professional front, Mohanlal was last seen in Drishyam 3, directed by Jeethu Joseph.

The veteran actor also has several highly anticipated projects in the pipeline, including Athimanoharam. In addition, he is expected to make special appearances in Jailer 2 starring Rajinikanth, Khalifa: Part 1 – The Intro featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer.
