Fans of Hiphop Tamizha Adhi finally have a date to mark on their calendars. The multi-talented actor, filmmaker and musician has officially announced that Meesaya Murukku 2 will release in theatres worldwide on September 25, ending months of speculation about the film’s arrival.
The announcement was made through a special promotional video shared by Adhi, offering audiences their first glimpse of his character and the film’s energetic tone. In the teaser, Adhi delivers a powerful dialogue that reflects the spirit of the sequel: “It does not matter whether I win or lose, but I will keep fighting till the end. Even if I lose, I would lose by twirling my mustache.”
The video also teases what the makers describe as a “concert in theatres,” hinting at a music-filled cinematic experience that stays true to the franchise’s roots.
A Sequel Nine Years in the Making
The announcement carries special significance for fans, as Meesaya Murukku 2 arrives nearly nine years after the original film released in 2017. The first installment was a commercial success and marked Hiphop Tamizha Adhi’s directorial debut, earning appreciation for its youthful storytelling, memorable soundtrack and emotional narrative.
On the franchise’s ninth anniversary, Adhi had expressed his excitement by saying that what began as a dream eventually became an emotion for millions of viewers. With the sequel now ready for release, audiences are eager to revisit the world that made the original a cult favourite.
Star-Studded Cast Joins the Musical Drama
Alongside Hiphop Tamizha Adhi, the film features an impressive ensemble cast including Chaithra Achar, Ketika Sharma, Ramya Ranganathan, Nasser, Aadukalam Naren, Karunaas, Sha Ra, and Harshath Khan.

Adhi has once again taken on multiple responsibilities for the project, serving as the writer, director, lead actor, music composer, and lyricist, continuing the creative approach that defined the original film.
The screenplay has been written by Adhi, while Karan Karky and Nithish D have contributed additional dialogues.
Experienced Technical Team Behind the Film
The sequel is being produced by Khushbu Sundar under the Avni Movies banner in association with ACS Arun Kumar of Benzz Media Pvt Ltd.
The technical crew includes Balaji Subramanyam as cinematographer, Fenny Oliver as editor, VS Dinesh Kumar as art director and Action Sandhosh handling the stunt choreography.
The film also marks Hiphop Tamizha Adhi’s first theatrical release since Kadaisi Ulaga Por in 2024.
