‘I Was Actually Nervous as F…’: Travis Scott Opens Up on Christopher Nolan’s Surprise Offer for The Odyssey

Travis Scott is stepping into unfamiliar territory, and he isn’t afraid to admit it. The Grammy-nominated rapper has opened up about the anxiety and excitement of making his acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated epic, The Odyssey, revealing that the opportunity came through a phone call he never saw coming.

Speaking during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Scott recalled the surreal moment when his phone lit up with a call from Nolan.“My phone went off, and it just said, ‘Chris.’ I thought maybe he wanted to go to a show,” Scott said with a laugh.

Instead, the acclaimed filmmaker had something much bigger in mind a role in his upcoming movie.

A Call That Changed Everything

According to Scott, he was initially convinced there had been some mistake.

The rapper, who has built his career through chart-topping music and visually striking performances, said he reminded Nolan that acting was completely new to him.“I’m like, ‘Whoa, hold on. Wait. Wait. You know I make music?’”

Despite his hesitation, Nolan believed Scott was the right fit for the role. Reports suggest the rapper will voice a bird narrator, guiding audiences through the legendary journey of Odysseus, the King of Ithaca, in the filmmaker’s ambitious adaptation of the classic Greek epic.

‘I Was Truly Anxious’ on Set

While Scott is no stranger to performing before massive crowds, acting alongside some of Hollywood’s biggest stars proved to be an entirely different challenge.

The 35-year-old admitted he felt genuinely nervous during filming, especially while sharing the screen with actors such as Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, and Robert Pattinson.“I was actually nervous as F, but it worked out,” Scott confessed.

Even with those nerves, the experience turned into a memorable milestone in his career.

Christopher Nolan Earns High Praise

Beyond the film itself, Scott spoke warmly about his relationship with Christopher Nolan, describing the Oscar-winning director as someone he deeply respects.

“I’m really inspired by him,” Scott said, adding that Nolan has become “a real mentor” outside of filmmaking as well.

Scott’s contribution to The Odyssey extends beyond acting. He has also recorded an original end-credit song titled “WHEN I’M HOME,” created in collaboration with acclaimed musician James Blake.
