Cupertino: As anticipation builds for Apple’s next-generation smartphones, fresh reports suggest the company is grappling with a critical supply chain challenge that could affect the availability of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro lineup.

According to industry reports, Apple is working aggressively with its manufacturing partners to secure sufficient DRAM memory chips required for the iPhone 18 Pro models and the company’s much-awaited foldable iPhone.

While the reported launch remains on track for next month, component shortages could impact production volumes and post-launch availability.

Memory Chip Shortage Creates Fresh Challenges

Semiconductor industry analyst Tim Culpan claims that a shortage of DRAM memory chips has become one of the biggest hurdles in Apple’s production cycle.

Reports indicate that Apple has already manufactured nearly $1 billion worth of unpackaged processors. However, these chips cannot be integrated into finished smartphones until the required memory components arrive.
