iPhone 18 Pro Enters Mass Production as Foxconn Boosts Hiring Ahead of Apple’s Big Launch
Foxconn is reportedly ramping up recruitment for large-scale iPhone 18 Pro production, while leaks suggest Apple’s next premium smartphone will feature a smaller Dynamic Island, the A20 Pro chip and advanced camera upgrades.
Apple’s primary manufacturing partner, Foxconn, has reportedly entered its annual peak hiring season as preparations begin for the large-scale production of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro.
According to supply chain reports, the company is increasing hourly wages, base salaries and rehire bonuses to attract workers for its assembly lines ahead of Apple’s expected autumn product launch.
The recruitment drive is aimed at ensuring sufficient production capacity as Apple gears up to build inventory before the flagship smartphone reaches global markets.
Smaller Dynamic Island Could Be A Major Upgrade
One of the most talked-about upgrades expected on the iPhone 18 Pro is a redesigned Dynamic Island.
Leaks suggest Apple could significantly reduce the size of the front camera and Face ID cutout, shrinking it from approximately 20.76 mm to 13.49 mm.
If accurate, the redesign would reduce the visible cutout area by nearly 35%, increasing the screen-to-body ratio to around 94.7%.
The smaller opening is expected to offer a more immersive viewing experience, particularly while watching videos or playing games in landscape mode.
A20 Pro Chip And Camera Improvements Expected
The next-generation premium iPhone is also expected to debut with Apple’s new A20 Pro processor, promising improved performance, better power efficiency and enhanced AI capabilities.
Camera upgrades could include a variable aperture main camera, allowing the lens to automatically adjust the amount of light entering the sensor depending on the shooting environment.

The technology is expected to improve low-light photography while giving users greater creative control over depth of field and portrait-style images.
Analysts Remain Optimistic About Apple’s Roadmap
Several market analysts remain positive about Apple’s future product strategy.
According to reports, CSC Financial believes strong sales of the iPhone 17 and Apple’s ongoing innovation cycle—including a foldable iPhone and smart glasses expected over the next two years—could further strengthen the company’s ecosystem and supply chain.
Meanwhile, Industrial Securities expects Apple’s expanding Apple Intelligence features, the iPhone 18 lineup and future foldable devices to continue driving demand in the premium smartphone segment.
Apple May Change Its Launch Strategy
Reports also suggest Apple could adopt a different release schedule for the iPhone 18 series.
Instead of launching the complete lineup simultaneously, the company is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max first, likely during its traditional September launch event.
The standard iPhone 18, along with the rumoured iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2, is reportedly expected to arrive later, possibly in the following year.
While Apple has not officially confirmed any of these details, the latest supply chain developments indicate that preparations for the next-generation flagship iPhone are already well underway.
