Dhruv Vikram faces breach of commitment complaint over ₹1 crore advance; Tamil producers reveal what allegedly went wrong

Tamil actor Dhruv Vikram has found himself at the centre of an industry dispute after Neeladri Productions, along with Pen Studios, filed a formal complaint with the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC), alleging that the actor failed to fulfil a previously agreed film commitment.

According to the producers, the disagreement stems from a project that was to be directed by Ramesh Varma, for which Dhruv had already signed on and accepted an advance payment.

Producers claim ₹1 crore advance was paid

In the complaint submitted to the TFPC, the producers stated that Dhruv Vikram had signed the film and received an advance of ₹1 crore.

They further claimed that substantial investments had already been made during the pre-production phase. Reportedly, expenses included music composition sessions, set construction, and advance payments to technicians and members of the cast.

The producers maintain that the project is fully prepared to move into production.

New film announcement sparks controversy

The issue reportedly intensified after Dhruv Vikram announced a new film backed by Mythri Movie Makers, with Karan directing the project.

According to the complaint, the film with Ramesh Varma was originally planned to be Dhruv’s fourth project, often referred to as DV4 by the makers.

When the producers sought clarification, they allege the actor informed them that he would first complete the Mythri Movie Makers film before returning to their project.

The producers argue that this unexpected delay could result in significant financial losses, including rising interest costs on investments already made.

Complaint reaches Producers’ Council

Describing the development as a breach of commitment, Neeladri Productions and Pen Studios have requested intervention from the Tamil Film Producers Council.

According to reports, the council has accepted the complaint and is expected to hear arguments from both parties before deciding on any further action.

At this stage, no official ruling has been made.

Questions over Dhruv Vikram’s upcoming projects

The controversy comes at a time when there has already been uncertainty surrounding some of Dhruv Vikram’s previously announced collaborations.

Projects linked with filmmakers AR Murugadoss and Mani Ratnam have yet to materialise, leading to speculation about the actor’s future lineup.

However, there is no official confirmation regarding the status of those films.

As of now, Dhruv Vikram has not issued any public statement responding to the allegations made by the producers.

The matter is expected to be discussed before the Tamil Film Producers Council, where both sides will have the opportunity to present their case before any decision is reached.
