Acclaimed filmmaker Mani Ratnam is reportedly set to begin shooting his next film starring Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi, with the first schedule expected to kick off in Kolkata before moving to Puducherry.
Celebrated filmmaker Mani Ratnam is gearing up to start production on his much-awaited next project featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. While the film is currently in its pre-production stage, reports suggest that cameras could start rolling within the next few days.
The project has already generated excitement among fans, especially as it marks another collaboration between Mani Ratnam and Vijay Sethupathi.
First schedule likely in Kolkata
According to reports, the film’s opening schedule is expected to be shot in Kolkata, where the cast and crew are likely to spend around 10 days filming key sequences.
After wrapping up the Kolkata leg, the production is reportedly set to shift to Puducherry for the next phase of shooting.
If everything goes according to plan, the makers are aiming to complete the film in approximately 40 days, making it one of Mani Ratnam’s relatively quick production schedules.
AR Rahman joins the project
Adding to the anticipation, Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has been roped in to compose the film’s soundtrack.
The filmmaker-composer duo has delivered several memorable albums over the years, and fans are eager to witness yet another musical collaboration.
The makers are yet to officially reveal the film’s title, storyline or the complete supporting cast.
Vijay Sethupathi has a packed slate
Apart from Mani Ratnam’s project, Vijay Sethupathi has several films lined up.

He will next be seen in Slum Dog: 33 Temple Road, directed by Puri Jagannadh.
The film also stars Samyuktha and Tabu in prominent roles, alongside Duniya Vijay Kumar, Brahmaji, and VTV Ganesh.
The shooting for the project has already been completed, and the makers are currently working on post-production as well as preparing multiple language versions ahead of release.

The upcoming Mani Ratnam film will also mark another reunion between the acclaimed director and Vijay Sethupathi, a collaboration that fans have been eagerly waiting to see again.
Sai Pallavi balancing major projects
Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi continues to be one of the busiest actresses in Indian cinema.
She is set to portray Goddess Sita opposite Ranbir Kapoor in the ambitious mythological epic Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
The film also features Yash, who will essay the role of Ravana, making it one of the most anticipated Indian films in production.
Before the release of Ramayana, Sai Pallavi also marked her Hindi film debut with Ek Din, in which she shared screen space with Junaid Khan.
