Awarapan 2 Box Office Day 3: Emraan Hashmi Film Storms Past Rs 60 Crore, Rs 70 Crore Sunday Mark Now in Sight…
Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani’s Awarapan 2 is enjoying a strong opening weekend, with the sequel crossing the Rs 60-crore India net mark within its first three days.
Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 has delivered another strong performance at the box office, continuing its impressive run through the opening weekend.
The sequel to the 2007 cult favourite Awarapan has already crossed the Rs 57-crore mark in India within its first two days, and the momentum has carried into Sunday.
According to early estimates reported by Sacnilk, Awarapan 2 has earned around Rs 4.71 crore net in India so far on Day 3. The figure is expected to increase as more shows are completed and evening and night screenings contribute to the day’s final tally.
With the latest numbers added, the film’s India net collection has reached approximately Rs 60.46 crore.
Its India gross collection currently stands at around Rs 72.46 crore.
The final Day 3 figures are expected after the day’s theatrical business concludes.
Awarapan 2 box office collection: Day-wise breakdown
The film opened strongly on Friday before recording a substantial jump on Saturday.
Here is the current India net collection:
- Day 1: Rs 22.00 crore
- Day 2: Rs 33.00 crore
- Day 3: Rs 4.71 crore [LIVE]
- Total: Rs 60.46 crore
The second-day jump was particularly impressive. After collecting Rs 22 crore on its opening day, the film witnessed roughly 50 per cent growth on Day 2, bringing in around Rs 33 crore from 10,496 shows.
The early Sunday figures suggest that the film could add considerably more before the day ends.
Rs 70 crore target comes into focus
The biggest immediate milestone for Awarapan 2 is now the Rs 70-crore India net mark.
With the film currently sitting at around Rs 60.46 crore, it needs approximately Rs 9.54 crore more to cross the milestone.
Considering the strong Saturday performance and the usual weekend boost, the target remains within reach if the film maintains its current pace throughout Sunday.
A final Sunday figure above Rs 10 crore would comfortably push the movie beyond the Rs 70-crore mark.
That would give Awarapan 2 a particularly strong first weekend and establish the sequel as one of the notable performers of its opening phase.
Emraan Hashmi’s comeback gets stronger
The performance is also significant for Emraan Hashmi, who returns to one of the most recognisable characters of his career.
The original Awarapan, released in 2007, gradually developed a cult following over the years, particularly because of its emotional storyline, music and Emraan’s performance.
Awarapan 2 therefore arrived with considerable expectations.
The early box office response suggests that the character and the franchise still have a strong connection with audiences.
The presence of Disha Patani has added another attraction to the sequel, with the actress playing Zara.

Awarapan 2 wins its box-office clash
At the box office, Awarapan 2 is also competing with Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947.
So far, Emraan Hashmi’s romantic drama has emerged ahead in the theatrical race.
The film is also competing for audience attention against Hollywood release Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is currently in its third week.
Despite the competition, Awarapan 2 has managed to record a strong opening weekend, indicating that the film is benefiting from positive audience response and the nostalgia surrounding the original.
Nitin Kakkar brings back the Awarapan story
Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Awarapan 2 continues the story established by the 2007 film.

Alongside Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani, the movie features Shabana Azmi as Nafisa Nawaz and Suvinder Vicky in important roles.
Shriya Saran and Shaad Randhawa are also said to make special appearances.
The film combines romance and drama while attempting to build upon the emotional legacy of the original Awarapan.
For a sequel arriving nearly two decades after the first film, its opening numbers provide an encouraging start.
What happens next?
The focus now shifts to the final Day 3 collection.
If evening and night shows continue to perform strongly, Awarapan 2 could finish its first Sunday with a significant addition to its India total.
The film has already crossed Rs 60 crore net, and the Rs 70-crore mark is now clearly within sight.
The bigger test, however, will begin on Monday.
A strong hold during the weekdays would determine whether Awarapan 2 can turn its impressive opening weekend into a sustained theatrical success.
For now, though, Emraan Hashmi has plenty to celebrate.
Awarapan 2 has made a powerful start — and the Rs 70-crore milestone could be just hours away.
