Audi has confirmed the India launch of the next-generation Q3, all-new A5 and flagship Q9 SUV, with all three models set to be locally assembled in Maharashtra.

Audi India has unveiled one of its biggest product expansion plans in recent years, confirming the launch of three new premium vehicles for the Indian market. The upcoming Audi Q3, Audi A5, and the all-new Audi Q9 flagship SUV will arrive in phases over the next year, strengthening the German luxury brand’s presence across multiple segments.

A key highlight of the announcement is that all three models will be locally assembled at the Škoda Auto Volkswagen Group manufacturing facility in Maharashtra, a move aimed at improving pricing competitiveness and expanding Audi’s footprint in India.

New Audi Q3 to arrive first

Leading the rollout will be the third-generation Audi Q3, which is expected to make its Indian debut during the upcoming festive season.

The premium SUV receives a sharper exterior design, an upgraded cabin and a host of new technology features. The India-spec version is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 204 bhp, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Audi’s signature Quattro all-wheel-drive system.

Expected features include an 11.9-inch digital driver’s display, a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, three-zone automatic climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. Audi may also introduce both the standard SUV and the Q3 Sportback in the Indian market.

Audi A5 to replace the A4

The second launch in Audi’s roadmap is the all-new Audi A5, expected to reach Indian showrooms in early 2027.

The A5 will effectively replace the outgoing Audi A4, offering a larger body, a more premium interior and Audi’s latest vehicle architecture. The cabin is expected to feature an advanced digital layout, including an optional passenger-side touchscreen on international models.

For India, Audi is likely to offer the sedan with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, automatic transmission and front-wheel drive configuration.

Audi Q9 to become the brand’s flagship SUV

Perhaps the biggest attraction of Audi’s future lineup is the Audi Q9, which will become the company’s new flagship SUV in India.

Measuring more than 5.3 metres in length, the Q9 is designed as a full-size three-row luxury SUV rather than an extended version of the Q7. It is expected to compete directly with premium rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz GLS and the BMW X7.

The India-bound Q9 is expected to feature a petrol engine, eight-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive. Audi is unlikely to introduce a diesel variant for the Indian market.

Audi aims to double its market share

Beyond introducing new products, Audi India has outlined an ambitious growth strategy. The luxury automaker currently accounts for around 8% of India’s luxury car market and aims to increase that figure to 16–18% over the next three years.

Alongside its fresh product lineup, Audi is also expanding its dealership network and strengthening its certified pre-owned business through Audi Approved Plus, positioning itself for stronger competition in India’s growing luxury automobile segment.

With three new premium launches on the horizon and a focus on local assembly, Audi appears determined to accelerate its growth and challenge established rivals in the country’s luxury vehicle market.
