Aamir Khan Tried to End Ranveer Singh–Farhan Akhtar ‘Don 3’ Dispute, Reveals FWICE Adviser

The controversy surrounding Ranveer Singh’s reported exit from Don 3 continues to deepen, with new revelations suggesting that some of Bollywood’s biggest names quietly stepped in to prevent the disagreement from turning into a full-blown industry conflict.

According to FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) chief adviser Ashoke Pandit, actor Aamir Khan was among several industry figures who attempted to mediate between Ranveer Singh and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar before the matter escalated further.

Speaking to Hindi Rush, Ashoke Pandit revealed that efforts were made behind the scenes to resolve the issue amicably before FWICE became involved.

“Many people from the industry, including Aamir Khan, had been trying to resolve the issue before it came to us. That also didn’t work,” Ashoke said during the interview.

He further pointed out the larger implications such disputes can have on film production houses and the industry as a whole.

“Today it’s Ranveer Singh. Tomorrow it could be someone else. This is what Excel is going through. If it was someone else, they would have gone to hell,” he added.

The conflict reportedly began after Ranveer Singh allegedly walked away from Don 3, a project backed by Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment. While official details remain unclear, multiple reports claim the actor exited the film due to creative disagreements, repeated production delays, and concerns surrounding the screenplay.

What initially appeared to be a casting issue has now reportedly transformed into a serious legal and financial dispute.

Ashoke Pandit also addressed the financial impact caused by actors backing out of projects after commitments have already been made.

“You may have ten valid reasons for not doing a film. But if money has been spent because you committed to the project, then those losses should be reimbursed,” he stated.

Reports suggest that Excel Entertainment has demanded nearly Rs 45 crore in compensation, claiming substantial financial losses linked to the stalled production.

Ashoke further stressed that celebrity status should not exempt actors from professional accountability.

“It does not matter how big a star someone is. Nobody should suddenly walk away from a committed project after investments have already been made,” he reportedly said.

The controversy gained even more attention after rumours surfaced claiming that Salman Khan had personally intervened to mediate due to his close ties with the Akhtar family. However, those reports were later dismissed, with sources clarifying that Salman had no involvement in the matter.

The situation escalated further when FWICE issued a temporary non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh. However, that directive has since been withdrawn.

The Don franchise remains one of Bollywood’s most iconic action-thriller series. Originally led by superstar Amitabh Bachchan and later reinvented by Shah Rukh Khan, the announcement of Ranveer Singh as the new face of Don 3 had already sparked strong reactions among fans online.

Now, with reports of legal complications, creative disagreements, and industry intervention, the film has become one of the most talked-about Bollywood controversies in recent months.

Neither Ranveer Singh nor Farhan Akhtar has officially issued a detailed public statement regarding the latest developments.
