Television actress Eva Grover has shared heartbreaking details about her former husband Hyder Ali Khan’s current condition while recalling the years of alleged domestic violence she endured before ending their marriage.
Mumbai: Television actress Eva Grover has spoken openly about one of the darkest phases of her personal life, revealing disturbing details about her marriage to Hyder Ali Khan, the stepbrother of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. In a recent interview, the actress reflected on the alleged abuse she faced during their relationship while expressing compassion for her former husband, who she says is now living in extreme hardship.
Speaking during an interaction with Siddharth Kannan, Eva revealed that Hyder’s life has taken a tragic turn. According to her, he currently has no permanent home and struggles to meet even his basic needs.
The actress shared that Hyder often depends on the kindness of others for shelter, moving between friends’ homes and small chawls whenever someone is willing to accommodate him. She said it pains her to see his present condition despite everything that happened between them.
Eva explained that although their marriage left her with emotional scars, she still prays for his well-being. She said that from a humanitarian perspective, Hyder was once an important part of her life, and she hopes he eventually finds peace. She also claimed that people around him continue to encourage alcohol consumption instead of helping him recover.
Marriage That Changed Within Days
Recalling how their relationship began, Eva said she first met Hyder through a common friend. Their romance progressed rapidly, and within just 18 days, Hyder proposed marriage.
Despite her mother’s reservations about the relationship, the couple secretly tied the knot in 2000.
However, Eva claimed that the reality of married life turned out to be completely different from what she had imagined.

She alleged that she later discovered Hyder was suffering from schizophrenia, a condition she admitted she knew very little about at the time. According to Eva, she had only witnessed his caring and respectful nature before marriage, but everything changed almost immediately after the wedding.

Five Years of Alleged Abuse

She finally decided to separate after the birth of their daughter, believing that divorce was the only way to protect herself and her child. Following the separation, she returned to live with her mother and gradually rebuilt her life and career.
