Los Angeles: Universal Studios has launched a swift crackdown after a high-quality pirated copy of Christopher Nolan’s latest epic, The Odyssey, surfaced online and quickly went viral.

According to reports, the unauthorized version of the 2-hour-53-minute IMAX-shot film was shared through a link on X (formerly Twitter) over the weekend. Before the content was taken down, the post had reportedly attracted nearly 2.1 million views, raising fresh concerns about online piracy and copyright protection in the film industry.

Universal Responds to the Leak

Reacting to the incident, Universal Studios confirmed that it immediately initiated measures to remove the illegally distributed copies.

In a statement, the studio said:“We became aware of the unauthorised posting of the film and immediately initiated takedown protocols. We take copyright infringement seriously and will pursue all appropriate remedies to protect our content and intellectual property rights.”

Following the studio’s intervention, the original account responsible for sharing the content was reportedly suspended, while most copies circulating on social media platforms had been removed by Sunday.
