Suriya's Vishwanath and Sons Is a '200% Blockbuster', Says Producer Naga Vamsi
Producer Naga Vamsi has described Suriya's upcoming film Vishwanath and Sons as a "200 per cent blockbuster" ahead of its August 14 theatrical release.

Suriya is riding high on the phenomenal success of Karuppu, and expectations for his next release, Vishwanath and Sons, have reached new heights. After Karuppu reportedly crossed the ₹300 crore mark at the global box office, producer Naga Vamsi has expressed immense confidence in the actor’s upcoming romantic family drama, boldly calling it a “200 per cent blockbuster.”

The statement has further fueled excitement for the Venky Atluri directorial, which is scheduled to hit theatres on August 14.

‘My Confidence Has Increased,’ Says Naga Vamsi

Speaking in a recent interview, Naga Vamsi, who is producing the film under the Sithara Entertainments banner, was asked whether the overwhelming success of Karuppu had increased the pressure on Vishwanath and Sons.

Instead of acknowledging pressure, the producer said the blockbuster performance of Karuppu had only strengthened his belief in the film.

According to Vamsi, he has already watched the movie and is convinced audiences will embrace it wholeheartedly.“My confidence has increased because I have seen the film and it is a 200 per cent blockbuster. Without even thinking for one second, people will come and enjoy watching the movie. It is a sure-shot amazing film. It is a proper family movie,” he said.

His strong endorsement has generated considerable buzz, especially among fans eager to see Suriya return to the romance genre after a long gap.

A Love Story That Breaks Convention

In Vishwanath and Sons, Suriya plays Sanjay Vishwanath, a talented pistol shooter in his 40s who is trying to maintain his discipline and competitive edge.

The story takes an emotional turn when Maddy, portrayed by Mamitha Baiju, enters his life. Despite the significant age difference and Sanjay’s initial reluctance, Maddy falls in love with him.

The film explores their unconventional relationship while delving into themes of family, emotions, acceptance, and personal growth, making it a departure from the action-heavy roles Suriya has portrayed in recent years.

Apart from Suriya and Mamitha Baiju, the film boasts an impressive ensemble featuring Radikaa Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, Nasser, Sudha, Raghu Babu, and Sunil Reddy.

The project is jointly produced by Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments and Sai Soujanya under Fortune Four Cinemas, with Srikara Studios presenting the film.

Behind the scenes, the technical team includes acclaimed composer GV Prakash Kumar, cinematographer Nimish Ravi, and editor Navin Nooli.

Naga Vamsi Also in the Spotlight Over Jr NTR Film

The producer has also been making headlines for another ambitious project.

Suriya's Vishwanath and Sons Is a '200% Blockbuster', Says Producer Naga Vamsi

On June 29, Naga Vamsi, Jr NTR, and director Trivikram Srinivas announced their upcoming collaboration with a tagline hinting at a mythological story centred on Lord Murugan (Karthikeya).

However, the announcement sparked debate after some viewers interpreted the wording to suggest that the deity was “born in the North,” drawing criticism from sections of Tamil audiences.

Despite the controversy, the focus for now remains firmly on Vishwanath and Sons, which is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Tamil releases of the year.

With Karuppu restoring Suriya’s box office momentum and the producer publicly backing the film with extraordinary confidence, fans will be watching closely to see whether Vishwanath and Sons lives up to its blockbuster promise when it arrives in cinemas on August 14.
