Skoda Octavia RS Returns to India at ₹56.69 Lakh But It’s ₹6.70 Lakh More Expensive This Time
Skoda has launched the second batch of the Octavia RS in India at ₹56.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Only 50 units are available this time, with the performance liftback packing a 265hp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a claimed 0-100kmph time of 6.4 seconds.
The Skoda Octavia RS is back in India, but enthusiasts hoping to get their hands on one will have to pay considerably more this time.
Skoda has launched the second batch of its performance-focused liftback at ₹56.69 lakh (ex-showroom) a substantial ₹6.70 lakh increase over the first batch’s ₹49.99 lakh price.
There’s another catch: availability is even tighter.
While the previous allocation was restricted to 100 units, Skoda is bringing just 50 units in the latest batch.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin next week.
₹6.70 Lakh More Expensive Than the First Batch
The first batch of the Octavia RS was priced at ₹49.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and generated considerable demand.
All 100 units were reportedly spoken for even before the car’s official India launch last year.
For its second run, the price has climbed to ₹56.69 lakh, representing an increase of approximately 13.4 percent.
Despite the premium, the combination of limited availability and the Octavia RS’s enthusiast appeal could once again make this a closely watched launch.
265hp Engine Shared With Golf GTI
Under the bonnet sits the familiar EA888 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which is also found in the Volkswagen Golf GTI.
In the Octavia RS, the four-cylinder engine produces 265hp and 370Nm of torque.
Power is sent exclusively to the front wheels through a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.
According to Skoda, the performance liftback can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 6.4 seconds.
Top speed is electronically limited to 250kmph.
Those figures ensure that the RS badge is more than simply a cosmetic addition.
Sports Suspension and Progressive Steering Standard
Skoda has also equipped the Octavia RS with hardware designed to complement its additional performance.
The car gets sports suspension, progressive steering, a reworked chassis and sports exhaust as standard.
Together, these changes are intended to give the RS a noticeably sharper character than a conventional Octavia while retaining the practicality for which the nameplate is known.
Sportier Design With 19-Inch Wheels
The exterior receives several visual changes to distinguish the RS.
It features Matrix LED headlights and LED taillights with dynamic indicators, while glossy black elements add contrast across the exterior.
The performance model rides on 19-inch alloy wheels and receives prominent RS badging along with sportier styling details and a blacked-out rear treatment.
For the second batch, Indian buyers can choose between three colours: Mamba Green, Velvet Red and Magic Black.
Performance Car With a 600-Litre Boot
Despite its performance credentials, the Octavia RS remains a liftback, giving it a significant practicality advantage.
Boot capacity stands at 600 litres with the rear seats in place.

Fold them down and luggage capacity expands to an impressive 1,555 litres.
The car measures 4,709mm in length, 1,829mm in width and 1,457mm in height, while its wheelbase measures 2,677mm.
That combination of sports-car-rivalling performance and everyday luggage space remains one of the Octavia RS’s biggest attractions.
Cabin Gets Sports Seats and 13-Inch Touchscreen
Inside, Skoda continues the performance theme with black sports seats featuring red accents.
The front seats are electrically adjustable and include memory, heating and massage functions.
There’s also ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a large 13-inch infotainment touchscreen.
The infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Other convenience features include three-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charging and an electrically operated boot.
Audio duties are handled by an 11-speaker Canton sound system with a subwoofer.
10 Airbags and ADAS Features
The Octavia RS doesn’t hold back on safety and driver-assistance technology either.
It comes equipped with 10 airbags alongside a range of advanced driver-assistance features.
The equipment list includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist and intelligent park assist.
Buyers also get a 360-degree camera and head-up display.
These features complement the RS’s performance-focused hardware with the technology expected from a premium car at this price point.
Is the New Octavia RS Worth ₹56.69 Lakh?
That’s likely to be the biggest question surrounding the second batch.
At ₹56.69 lakh ex-showroom, the new allocation is significantly more expensive than the previous one, despite retaining the familiar 265hp powertrain.
But the Octavia RS has never relied solely on outright performance.
Its appeal comes from combining a 6.4-second 0-100kmph time, enthusiast-oriented chassis, premium equipment and a genuinely practical 600-litre boot in one package.
With only 50 units available, exclusivity is even greater this time.
Whether buyers are willing to absorb that ₹6.70 lakh price increase will now determine whether the second batch disappears as quickly as the first.
