‘Students Just Want Accountability’: Samay Raina Backs NEET protest, Joins Alia Bhatt and other celebrities

Stand-up comedian and content creator Samay Raina has publicly expressed solidarity with students participating in protests over the alleged NEET question paper leak and demands for reforms in India’s education system.

The protests, held in cities including Delhi and Mumbai, have drawn widespread attention, with students calling for greater transparency, accountability, and improvements in the examination process. The movement has also received support from activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has reportedly begun a hunger strike in support of the students’ demands.

Sharing his views through an Instagram Story, Samay Raina questioned why meaningful discussions with students had been delayed despite growing concerns.

In his message, he said the students were simply asking for a better education system and accountability from authorities. He stressed that open dialogue could help resolve issues before they escalate further.

Samay also acknowledged the emotional and personal stakes involved in competitive examinations, noting that the future of students and the hopes of their families are closely tied to these exams. He concluded his message by expressing hope that the students’ voices would be heard and lead to meaningful change.

Earlier, Alia Bhatt shared an emotional statement on social media, praising the courage and determination of the students while describing them as the future of the country.

Actors Vaani Kapoor, R. Madhavan, and Hina Khan have also voiced solidarity with the protesters, adding to the growing support from the entertainment industry.

Recent Challenges in Samay Raina’s Career

Apart from his latest social media statement, Samay Raina has remained in the headlines over recent months due to legal controversies linked to his comedy show India’s Got Latent.

Multiple FIRs were filed against Samay and fellow creators Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, and Apoorva Mukhija following controversy over remarks made during the show’s first season. The creators later issued public apologies.

More recently, Samay launched the second season of India’s Got Latent on Netflix, while also facing legal proceedings related to the earlier controversy.
